I came away so dissappointed in this one and frustrated. The gameplay is so much looking for a specific name in a large map. The other half is looking through a large shelf of plants looking for a name or a feature. Even if you are aware of the answer to a puzzle this can be time consuming and tedious. So much is just busy work. Maybe if there was some kind of control F for finding a town or location name this would have been more bearable - though I am not sure how they would improve the busy work of finding a flow with a specific feature. Another part was just looking through a book for a secondary name or latin name. The story was somewhat interesting, but bogged down by all the tedium. I do not see why anyone would find this "gameplay" engaging.

I really wanted to like this game. But in the end it just felt very punishing and not fun.

There are some performance issues, however the overall gameplay loop is really fun. The card based system is not like anything else you can really find and there is a nice balance of strategy and RPG elements.

Overall, it has a nice ascetic and is mechanically a continued improvement from civ 5.
