Early Access Review
Such a fun game. It feels like the movement and shooting from Destiny, in a grimdark atmosphere. The roguelike elements are done well and offer some variety to the gameplay experience. The arsenal of different weapons to use, and the different combinations of weapons and items to create different builds is excellent, especially for Early Access. I can't wait to see what the developers have in store for this game.

It's definitely on the tougher side, but I love the souls-like mechanics and how they're implemented. If you die and lose your progress, you're not screwed over and just have to restart on your grind to the next level/tier. Progression feels rewarding and opens up lots of new things to do and explore. The maps are decently-sized, and it's incredible how much content and enjoyment has been squeezed out of every last inch of each of the 3 currently available maps. I'd say it's almost worth it as-is, let alone with the promises of what's to come. And the developers have established a report with the community, supporting the game thoroughly throughout its Epic exclusivity. Am I gushing? I'm gushing; it's just a great game.

I know it's a buggy mess (it's absolutely true, I see floating cigarettes all the time), but it's still fun. If you bought into the hype, not sure anything will be able to make you okay with the current state of the game. But if you, like me, just heard that it was a cool concept and were interested in trying out a sci-fi game with a gritty atmosphere, you can still find that here. I've also had no performance issues, but I'm running a 3090, 5950x, 64gb 3600 RAM, and it's loaded on a SATA6 SSD so your mileage may vary. Friends with 3070/80s and more modest CPUs report similar fine performance.

Give it a shot, maybe on sale maybe not, but largely your enjoyment of this game will depend on what your preconceptions are and what you're looking to get out of it. 50hrs since launch has been some pretty slow and conservative play, but it makes the game a decent treat to go back to here and there as time permits. I recommend you treat it similarly; as a cool experience you can jump into slowly, and the patches will outpace you - leading to even more enjoyment.

Do you like the idea of Call of Duty, but hate the execution? Do you like to mindlessly kill hordes of people, but think that all the other games that provide that experience suck? Well Verdun is for you! I have had this game for about 5 months now, and while it is not a game you put hundreds of hours into in that span of time, it is a great game to play casually in some down time. I have only recently actually played it with friends, as the game was on sale and they finally bought it, and it is an even better experience! The game is so addictive and immersive that you begin using callouts and other advanced strategies, no matter whether you wanted to or were conscious of the action or not. Highly addictive, great fun alone, and an unimaginably awesome time with friends. Solid 10/10, and there aren't even that many maps or guns, and it doesn't matter at all. There could be 1 gun and 3 maps, and this game would still be 10/10. Gameplay is amazing, and there are so many awesome moments that at times this game puts Battlefield to shame. Must buy, especially on sale. Would rather buy 4 more copies of this game for no reason than ever buy another Call of Duty in my life, because this game is so worth it.

Do you like video games? Get Gmod! This game is completely amazing, and nothing is quite like it. You can do almost anything, from GTA roleplay to TTT, there's almost guaranteed a server for it out there. I clocked in 45 hours on this game the first week I got it, and that was what I considered light play of this game. I might take a break to go play Skyrim or something now and again, but I always find myself going back to this game within a few hours, at most. When I can't play this game, I'm thinking about playing it, or at least wishing I had the option to. In fact, if you want to have any semblence of a life left, maybe you shouldn't get this game... 10/10 IGN would play/rate/download again (in fact, I'm downloading it for a second time, but on my laptop, right now so I can play it wherever, whenever!)
