It's actually a game now!

I didn't really enjoy playing this In the early access. it seemed like the enemies had wall-hacks and aim-bot set to high and whenever they shot at you, the visual effects made it almost impossible to line up a shot and fire back (skill issue). Now that the game has been somewhat released, it still feels like the enemies have aim-bot but only sometimes; as for the visual effects, they seem to have been toned down a little bit and it feels much easier to fight back.

The graphics aren't improved too much over the early access but that's not to say they weren't good in the first place. The game looks beautiful with the exception of some outdoor environments where there are lots of trees; the graphics are good enough to keep the game immersive, even when you and your friends are being idiots.

My biggest issue with this game is the artificial 10 second loading screen that shows up after you fail a mission; having S ranked a few missions, it's extremely difficult to play a level without failing at least twice. If you're new to the game this loading screen will pop up a lot. The reason I think that this screen could be shorter/ non existent is that me and my friends all have top end hardware. The game seems to have irregular performance issues which seemed to be more problematic in 4K but practically a non issue when playing in 1440p with a higher refresh rate. The game would stutter a little bit when you were being shot at.

7.5/10

I went from not liking the early access to thoroughly enjoying this release. It's probably the one of the most realistic, fun, tactical shooters at the moment. There isn't an overwhelming number of missions but they can take a long time to successfully complete, my friends and I Initially go for a lethal play style and then we come back to the same mission and play it non lethal so we can achieve an S rank. It does feel like this game deserves some kind of story-line but so far, each mission is enjoyable and has its own challenges. The game does have a lot of replay value and despite 39 hours on record as I type this, I am nowhere near finishing this game.

Looking forward to what the devs do next but given that this is the first update in nearly a year, I wouldn't hold my breath. It's playable as it is.
