Not just more Doom 2016

Honestly my opinion on this game has changed several times and I think I have arrived at a final opionion.

That opinion being that I like it, I REALLY like it, while it does do some things worse than 2016 like the fact that the overall style and tone of 2016 feels much more focused and less akward in places.

However, gameplay wise it is a decent evolution of 2016, balancing the weapons in such a manner to demand the player uses a more varied arsenal instead of just their favorite weapon, I especially like how the chainsaw was given a better purpose than just being get out of jail free card when facing a hard to kill demon, the grenades and suit atachments are much better in this game as I actually ended up using them AND using them a lot.

The collectibles have more character and purpose and are overall less akward to find (and there are some nice goodies for people who go out and find all of them)

The enemies are very simillar to 2016 but are diffrent and even better in some way but there isnt too much to them other than they are more varied and overall better than 2016, except.. the marauder, yes the marauder I do not like, which I know is controversial as a lot of people who complain about him are kinda bad at the game and dont know how to fight him, I however DO know how to fight him and have the opinion that he is just kinda annoying and doesnt bring anything good to the game but also doesnt really appear often so he doesnt really ruin the game either, when facing one you kinda just stare at em until he decides to do the eye flashing attack at which point you hit em twice with quickswitching and repeat the process until he is dead, there really isnt much to him and he doesnt really fit with the other hoards of demons as you to fight him you just kinda have to be hyper focused on him, which is why he usually apears alone when other powerful demons are absent so even the devs know he doesnt really mix well.

The level design while not exceptional was better than 2016 and is less of a thing where you go between demon arena to demon arena althought those are still present, could have been better but was still more than acceptable, this isnt quake after all.

The very exceptional thing about this game is its optimisation, this is probably the most optimised AAA game in the last decade, it works great on most midspecced pcs and is even at the very least playable on low spec systems while still looking decent.

Overall you should get it but dont expect a straight upgrade to 2016 but it is still none the less an upgrade.

Surprisingly funny

Going into this I was expecting to roll my eyes at most of the jokes and while I did indeed do that a bit for the most part this game had a surprisingly good sense of humor, most all of the jokes land and never fall into the category of being cringe worthy.

Similarly I was surprised at how fun the shooting, hijacking and missioning was, expecting it to be a bargain bin version of GTA I could not have been any more wrong since this game feels great to play and there is no moment in the game where youre trying to pass over a frustrating hurdle to get to the "good part".

Graphically the game looks great and has aged great which makes the fact it got a remaster kinda strange as it really didnt need one.

The character costumization is great and very detailed allowing you to costumise you character to whichever nieche look you want, well mostly, at the very least it is much better than any TES game.

Overall great, I would reccommend it and not only to people who are into GTA already.

The guns feels good and the gameplay is fast and fun.

The loot system feels rewarding

The characters feel fun and unique.

Really it has everything that a looter shooter/a borderlands game needs to be good, but thats what it is "good" its not exceptional or great or amazing its just "good"

The story is about what you would expect from borderlands, some people had problems with it but honestly its such a small part of both the game and series as a whole that it really doesnt bring the game down at all, not that it even could ever since this game does not take itself seriously at all and the humor while overall decent can feel cringeworthy at times.

Check it out if you want an extremly set in stone simply "good" looter shooter.

Really good.

It still impresses me how an RPG from 1996 can do so much.

Even little things like how the game generates an optional backstory for your character based on the skills you picked and somehow feels like an actual person wrote it are great.

Its an overall deep RPG with a lot of stats skills and oportunities to use those skills.

The dungeons are HUGE and meant to be the main place where you spend your time in this game, unfortunately without daggerfall unity installed (which you should honestly use if you plan to play this) the dungeons are EXTREMELY hard do manage but if youre persistant you can do it (but really just get daggerfall unity and use a full reasolution dungeon map).

The story is interesting and can be aproached in diffrent ways or ignored all together.

You are able to buy houses and ships, gold weighs and needs to be placed in a bank.

The gameplay feels good once you reach a point where you have a decent hit chance (which should be fast if you know what youre doing), getting new weapons and leveling up feels and IS impactful to your character.

The game also has great costumisation with a decent amount of armor and clothing that overlap present.

Not for casuals but worth a shot, especially if you like elder scrolls.

My favorite game ever honestly.

The gunplay is the best the FPS genra has to offer, all the guns feel powerful and crunchy.

The level design kick all of the asses that ever presented themselves wanting to be kicked.

The enemies are not only all unique but compliment eachother perfectly on the battlefield and do not interrupt the players dodging even when they are facing several types at once.

The game has dark and awesome looking styled graphics that aged like fine wine.

Despite my love for this game it would be unfair to not point out that it is SLIGHTLY unfinished since only 2 bosses are present and there is not much to them and multiple were planned, its a real shame.

Other than the boss issues this game is pretty much perfect, perfect guns, perfect enemies, perfect level design, perfect movement, prefect music.

A must buy, also the new remaster is great but is not needed to enjoy the game.

This game is a roplaying dream giving you a canvas to be nearly anyone and the RPG mechanics to custumize and compliment the character you are roleplaying as.

The story is great with a decent amount of diffrent ways to aproach situations which give you even more roleplaying options.

The speech system is good and characters can be pursuaded not only by having a good speech skill but also by having points in other skills and picking your words carefully and actually paying attention to what the characters are saying.

The shooting as a bit poor but is serviceable and not the highlight of the game anyway.

Definitly something you should check out.

What happened to Far Cry?

The gameplay is fun and unique for far cry standards, the guns feel good to use, hit hard, and the upgrades feel meaningful and even change the look of the gun youre using.

The boring far cry formula of going outpost to outpost is not nearly as bad since you can move around the map extremely quickly and take out baddies quickly as well.

The issue is, Its WAY too short, this game should have been way bigger, it has so much potential it doesnt realise because its just too short, which granted makes sense since this is like a standalone DLC to far cry 3 but it kick FC3 in the ass in terms of gameplay.

So yeah its both a bit of a shame that far cry games dont learn from what this game did right and also that the game itself is way too short.

Its meh

The gunplay is fine enough when you get used to it and the characters are overall interesting and dont feel at all unbalanced.

Matches can be fairly intense and the game modes on offer are good.

Nothing special, its manages to do well in its simplicy tho it is somewhat boring, which is strange considering the number of diffrent characters but all of them are so simple that they end up no mattering much.

Oh and the hitboxes are kinda crap but its not a big deal.

Maybe play it.
