This game... You can easily see how much love went into it. Just look at the art styles, listen to the VA and music. Whenever I want to just sit down with a drink and listen to stories I haven't heard yet, this game is right there.
I love the warmth this games emits. I don't know if anyone else feels it when they play.
I was given this game and the sound track as a present.
Easily one of the best presents I've been given. Always puts a smile on my face to just wonder the land and learn of new stories and watch them grow and learn more.

I've been meaning to review this game for a while, I guess it's fitting that I get around to it now it's fully released.
Rimworld is easily a staple game people should try. It looks intimidating, yes. People have told me so many times that the game looks intimidating. But that's where the community comes in.
The Rimworld community is probably one of the better game communities out there, everyone's always willing to help and give advice, learning what you need/want is easy with such a great community at that game's back. Plus the modding scene is top notch. You want it? there's probably already a mod for that. Plus if someone drops a mod, someone will very likely pick it back up so people don't miss out.
The different game scenarios, paired with the different difficulty levels, the help of the community and even the in-game help box, it wouldn't be too long before you learned the ropes. It's very much a game where you just jump in and do it. Do the thing, you'll learn, you'll get there.
Make your adventure, your story with your highs and lows. Make that super base or bases, fight off those hordes of man-hunting yorkshire terriers, travel the world, build a ship to leave the planet, or don't, you do you. Fight your fights.

I seriously couldn't recommend this game enough to anyone. In my honest opinion, everyone should buy and play this game. I've had so much fun, right from the early alpha days, to now.
All sorts of different people I know, with different personalities, tastes in games and everything inbetwee.. they've all loved Rimworld.
The only reason I've not played so much recently is because life is getting in the way. Every play through is different, nothing gets old, especially with the help of the modding community.

I'm not saying the game is perfect -there aren't many things in this world that is- and this can cause frustrating moments, I won't lie, some of the ways some stuff works seems silly or just outright wrong. But for me, everything else I love about the game far outweighs the bad. I can live with it.

If you're still not sure, so see a Rimworld stream or youtube video. Look for someone who explains what they're doing. There's a good few that do. Go to the reddit, read up on it. Do your research. Hell, that's what this review is for, isn't it? for you to do some research on the game and if you'll like it? Exactly.

For me, this is one of the best games on steam. 10/10

This game is just.. comfort.
Right from day one, the first play, I just loved everything about this game.
Like running your own shop? no problem
Like dungeon crawling? gotcha
Like dungeon crawling to stock up your shop and actually seeing what economical effects can happen whilst you play?
Like cute stuff?

It's just an adorable, perfect little package. I love it.

Now I'm normally one to give the benefit of the doubt, but with the amount of time and money a LOT of people have given into this game...

For something that's supposed to be full release now, it shouldn't be sutch the buggy piece of ♥♥♥♥ that it is. It's not alpha OR beta anymore. EVERYTHING BREAKS, FIX YOUR ♥♥♥♥.
And the new escape mode is cool and everything, but that's what "The Escapists" is for. Now I can't get any new maps from the workshop because it's all in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ escape mode. I WANT to be able to run a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ prison, why am I not allowed to do that without ♥♥♥♥ breaking or not working properly?
I put so much time into every prison I've made, just for it to break eventually and it's then unplayable.

What to say about this game..

It's definitely not something I thought it was going to be.
I originally bought this game for the lolz since the general idea for this game is "Oh it's a dating sim... for birds.. lol" So originally, I played it as such. But as I carried on through the different routes you could take, I found each story more and more compelling. So many twists and turns and things that just randomly straight up hit you in the feels or made you think "wtf just happened?"

The main story is really creative and the genre twist really takes you through a loop and keeps you hooked. And for birds, the characters are really well developed.
I think the makers of this game knew exactly what they were doing. I want to take the player into a false sense of "This is going to be hilarious and stupid" Which granted, at some points, that's what it does. Very well. It's really funny.
When really it's building you up for a huge unexpected story hit. All the different routes are just branches of character developments, readying you for the main plot. I applaud that.

Over all, I'd actually recommend buying this game and doing exactly what everyone else is doing. Go in while not taking this game seriously at all and let it change your mind. Because it seriously will. Then it'll leave you there to sit there and think about how unexpectedly brilliantly done it is. Mediatonic, Hato Moa... hats off to you, this was a great experience.

Okay, lets get this straight. For £12-£14, this game is seriously not worth it.
All you do all game is grind. You grind to get money for your laptop, dress, plushie and books. You grind to increase your relatonships points by 1 each time. You get no story apart from the intro.
I did this game first in easy mode to get a feel, I need 100 points to get an ending. Any ending at all. With any of the love interests. It's so rediculously hard to get that high.
Because you're supposed to be living this girl's life. She has a job, she has interests. You're not supposed to be turning her into a psycho stalker that spends every.waking.moment talking to this guy (whoever you chose) Cause what about the Morale and energy you have to keep tabs on? If you don't, money dwindles.

I love visual novels. Any one I see, I try to get. Despite not having much money most of the time.
Don't waste your time or money on this one. The developer should be ashamed.
I agree with steam greenlight and everything since it gives smaller developers a chance to make it. But when you get pathetic pieces like this turn up and try to take your money. It turns the whole concept into a joke.

As many have said, this is probably THE best game online. Especially now that it's free, cause now the whole world and it's brother can play without any worry. The variety of classes, weapons, misc items, game modes and maps means that you'll have endless hours of fun. Especially with the millions of other people that play.
I can easily play this game for hours on end and NOT get bored. The challenge of the fight, the laughter of the people from the voice quotations from the classes themselves, the full on back story to the games... I love everything about this game. I can easily see myself playing this as I grow older.
If there's someone who doesn't like this game, then that's just plain weird. Someone who can't afford it, they're a lier. I HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone and everyone.

Got so addicted to this game. Playing it on your own is abit of a challenge, but multiplayer with three of your friends results in the funniest derp fest ever.
