The Factory has Grown.
But it hasn't finished Growing.

Not only did they release an amazing DLC, Wube also did an entire QOL overhaul to the base game of Factorio.

The games cost for the game + dlc is now 70$ (USD) and honestly that 70$ contains more value than any AAA game released in the past 3-5 years.

I've been loving my experience thus far.
In other news. I've completely destroyed my sleep schedule, played more than I have slept, and honestly i'm pretty sure about 95% of this game is providing me physical sustenance.
I'm pretty sure this is a designer drug disguised as a video game DLC.

THE FACTORY MUST GROW THE FACTORY MUST GROW THE FACTORY MUST GROW

Been Playing Since Day 1, decided it was time to make a new review.

- Every Canto Gives me a different Flavor of Trauma
- Great Music
- Good Story that adds more context to previous games

I wasn't sure how I felt about Project Moon making their third game a gacha, but after playing nearly 300hrs I can pretty confidently state that it is far from a gacha. It's more an RPG with 'gacha-like' mechanics. As none of the crappy predatory FOMO that is common in the genre is here. F2P is treated wonderfully. And if you DO decide to support them and purchase the seasonal pass (Which lasts for 3-4+ months, btw) it's more like you're just purchasing the game.

Overall, very very satisfied with the story and direction they went with. And I'm glad this is the game they'll keep using to Fund their future game projects <3

Great title screen music :)
I really enjoy climbing things I probably shouldn't be climbing
And it's one of the few games that I can enjoy casual conversation with people

Okay, So after playing with Steam VR with multiple headsets (Vive, Quest, and Index), I gotta say, I applaud Valve.

Valve trying their best to give support to hardware that doesn't want to support SteamVR, really goes to show the mindset Valve has with VR, something larger, something for all of us to enjoy, not just something gimmicky or silly, but a serious way to bring this entire world even closer, and as a result take us farther.

Steam VR is the foundation of every VR experience I've had so far, so as a result, i'd like to say it's the heart of the experience. Something that ties it all together, and makes it slightly more magical, and easy for people who aren't as tech savy as some to get into such an experience too.

If anything this is my heartfelt love letter to Valve and VR, keep making this technology something amazing, something everyone can eventually take apart in and enjoy. VR, and the experiences inside of it, are just as legitimate as real world experiences. There is nothing more special, than being able to finally hug someone who you've known your entire life, who lives across the world, in a virtual one. It may not be the real world equal, but it sure as hell makes you feel the same raw, un-canned emotional responses.
Thank you Valve, for making my early Adulthood have a child like magic and awe in them.

We were too late to explore the world,
Probably a bit late to truly explore space,
Just In time to explore the virtual world.

If you can ever experience VR, do it.

I got this game as part of the Humble bundle (back when it wasn't humble choice)
It's honestly a gem of a game, the story is charming and the characters are certainly going to warm your heart.

Absolutely worth the price.

This game was the rave years and years ago, it's such a shame it's legacy has been thrown into the dirt.
New update isn't anything but a poor excuse for a progression loop.
Don't get me wrong I'd love to give this a good review, I really would, but all it's good aspects are very 50/50.
Don't buy, unless something major changes, which is unlikely.
At least I didn't have to pay for it again...

Pros :
Fun shooty shoots
Have to use your brain a bit
feels rewarding to win sometimes
Cons:
Well ♥♥♥♥ I need friends
Ubi has some janky servers at night sometimes.

Verdict : Don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ buy the cheapo version unless you like to suffer.

After much more playtime with this game, I think I can give it a proper review.

Expected Playtime for this game :
The base game is already going to give a handful of hundreds (maybe even a few thousands) of hours of enjoyment, there's so many different ways to play the game. It's really up to you how you'll play this.

Some of the things I notably enjoy is every little character your colony will have will be different, have different friends and foes, and be better at different things, so you could have a whole colony of beer loving dwarfs or have a serene village filled with the finest craftsmen on the planet, again driving home the point it's entirely up to you.

The games difficulty comes from these omniscient beings called "Storytellers", which basically watch you play and determine what challenges you will face, in the forums of raids, sickness, or other events which will affect your colonists moods as a result.
(They're very customize-able as well with the recent inclusion of a "CUSTOM" difficulty option, you can also get unique storytellers from the workshop for added spice or chill)

This game has a lot going on inside it, and seriously can be overwhelming at first, thankfully there is a learning helper to teach you the basics, you can change your difficulty at any time, and there's tens of thousands of hours of youtube videos on this game too, any question you'll have about this game can be answered.

Now, let's talk about the DLC for a moment.
As of writing there is currently two DLCS for this game "ROYALTY" and "IDEOLOGY"
Personal take here, but Ideology is a MUST HAVE, it takes the replay value of this game from 10/10 it already was to a 50/10, Allowing you to grow your colony and have a unique take on what paths your pawns will pursue is BLISSFUL.

If money is a concern for initially buying this game I can say you could safely skip royalty and be okay, certainly if you had to choose between the two DLCS, Ideology > Royalty in my eyes.
Though, i would recommend buying both, not only to support the devs, but for my next point as well.

Modding;
Holy sweet lord this game has so many MODS, you want something to add to the game? there's a mod for it.
Cat girls? Mod for it!
Turning Humans into a clone army? Mod for it!
Genetically splicing creatures into eldritch abominations? Mod for it!
New tools, weapons, or buildings to customize your colony? Mods for it!
Hell you can right up change the entire look of the game with mods if you wanted to.
I can not understate how many mods this game has on it's workshop, many of them(~85-90%) ONLY requiring the base game to use, And there's mods also out there that expand the content the DLCs add as well

All in all, this is probably the 2nd best game purchase I've made since Minecraft, which was all the way back in 2009 and I nearly have 25k hours in that game. Seriously, this game will give you stories to tell, and plenty of enjoyment, the only real limit is your imagination really.

10/10 Would lose my entire colony to a plague again
