The game was fun for a while, but I fell out of it. I was willing to let it fade from memory and step away from the game, but this PSN stuff being mandatory after purchase is pretty stinky. Now it deserves to burn. The developers did good but got busted by corporate greed to pump their numbers - now its refund time lmao

Very unpolished and lacking real substance.

-The helicopter blades don't kill enemies/people yet break against terrain (TIP: Try bouncing ontop of an enemy heli with your own to break their blades. Absolutely cash money, plus you dodge their gunfire)

-ALWAYS online, regardless of single player or not. Plus Ubisoft may delete your account and thus, your games if you dont play for ~6 months?

-You can't jump.

-New guns and attachments are unlocked by exploring and retrieving them in crates, a fair system. However, you can freely change your loadout wherever you are, in combat, in mission, 3000 feet in the air. No real need to "plan" or optimize loadouts

-Because attachments and weapons are so sparse, you really suffer in the beginning. Need a sniper? Use a FAL. SMG? FAL. CQC? FAL! Theres no benefit or any real need for other guns beyond different scopes.

-Sometimes you need to interrogate someone, but they have a gun. Theres's no less than lethal tools to subdue someone... even grabbing them and "knocking them out" counts as a KILL. Lazy.

+Realistic bullet ballistics and customizations do help make a gun feel like yours

-Vehicles are VERY loose/touchy and will easily toss you off a cliff
+Motorcycles are borderline impossible to fall off of as a result.

-Im ~18 hours in as of writing this, but after killing 3 buchons under an Underboss, this just getting kind of tiring. Sure, each mission is different and each boss has a "persona/unique" thing about them, but it's the same stuff. Find gold folder, do mission. Repeat ~5 times, go kill them. Buchon dead, congrats! Theres only 17 more, to do over again... and again... and again.

-The missions fails are VERY brutal, borderline kicking you back to the start if you fail. Did you drive a box truck halfway across the map, clear a compound, deliver it, and fail because a patrol vehicle spotted you? Do it again, I wasnt looking.

~The map is large, and each country has a feel to it? The map feels alive yet, so vacant and repetitive. Let me know when you find the "Mayor's Office" building that has the central large stairs and 2 sets to the left and right on the second floor to the third.
+The HEAT MAP idea is a very cool feature, but a cleared providence still has cartel there, and some cartel control areas have heaps of rebels just driving around or patrolling. They could've had the map turn red vs green vs purple and focus troops or rebels there? But no, its just an overlay, that doesnt update live or reflect anything youve done beyond where youve traveled... which the normal map does anyways! What a waste.

TL:DR; its a giant sandbox with stuff sprinkled in it. That's a lot of games broken down but, you're in Bolivia as a secret crew that drives around and kills endless cartel members. Missions can be completed in any order and thus have no real tension or "story" besides building your way up the chain.

It has no real substance and is more of a time occupier than something you invest your time in and feel GOOD playing. Hell, go play Far Cry 3. Its similar but way better.

Just a short, sweet, funny game. Something anyone can learn and have fun with, plus plenty of unique songs to play

God, this game is amazing. Many people approach it as a walking simulator, but its more than that. Ill admit, maybe the first 2 hours are, but thats before they give you vehicles to use and drive, which really isnt long. Theres 3 things that make this game just... so great

The Graphics/Physics/Mechanics
Theres was maybe 2 times something weird happened... a truck got stuck on a rock, and my game crashed loading a boss. Other than that, the game is BEAUTIFUL and runs smooth, just look online and find a cutscene. The tripping/stability mechanic for rocks, and slants works wonders, and its pretty reasonable when it comes to balance. Carrying a lot and turn around quickly? You stumble. Carrying a lot of stuff? Hit a roof and it falls off. Its the small stuff that gets you, cause it all just runs perfectly together

The Story
Man.. this game isnt as easy as "go across the US, kill bad guy, yay you did it!" the entire last 2 chapters (of 13) are almost all cutscenes, just DETAILING and EXPLAINING stuff, connecting and making sense of the 40 (in my case) hours you put playing this game, why this person did this or why they are how they are. Plus the twists all the way inbetween, I'd sit here and gasp at some stuff, like "oh my god thats him!" or just be shocked at what I was presented

The Music
Now, this seems minor, but the soundtrack for this game is unique. Of course anything made has its use, but the music in this just.... hits; it knows just when to kick on, and complete the scene. Whether emerging after a nap in your room, driving through a desolate valley, sneaking past BTs or that final delivery, people who played know what I mean. It just creeps on you and gives that extra bump or tension needed to make the feeling alive

Overall... this game makes me sad. I've completed the story, and I'm sad I cant experience it again with the same level of mysticism, but I'm glad I was able to experience it to begin with. 1000 likes to Kojima and the wonderful people who put this together!

Man... Great game. You may not like it if you don't like puzzles or mystery, or don't do critical thinking and remembering. But, great game if you do.
