This is a pretty solid game given its age, and I can see how many other puzzle-solving walking simulators are inspired by this. Definitely a must-try for all puzzle and lore lovers out there! Please please remake other games of MYST series as well!

Really cool game with both soul-like combat and thought-provoking puzzles, and there is even some replayability for the second play-through. The only thing that slightly put me down is the final 20 gathering puzzles, which seem a bit repetitive or outright hideous to me.

A must play for mystery game lovers. Really well designed gameplay and character dialogues. The only downfall I can think of is the drop in fun for finding the identities of several characters since there are so many characters to begin with. Sometimes it just reduced to trial and error. 8/10.

Groundbreaking way of storytelling. Love how the central mystery is gradually revealed to something surprising yet reasonable. Worth playing. 9/10 as some part of gameplay gets a little repetitive.

Came to expect murder mystery, planet destruction, and cat. Totally didn't expect a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Freebird universe.

Brilliant. Never thought a dlc would add this much to the base game. Less diversity in planet landscape, but really well designed both in story and puzzle while perfectly explaining every small detail as usual. 10/10.

I would give 100/10 for its scene and general design concept, and 5/10 for everything else. A must try for everyone who thinks of himself/herself as a true pro gamer.

Oh boy, oh boy. I haven't played this game for quite a while and to be honest, I am actually AFRAID of opening up this game. After so many times of disbelief and deep regret afterwards, I now know exactly that as soon as I open up the game to "have fun for an hour or so", it's surely a day gone and I have to reschedule everything on the fly. Please proceed with caution if you previously experienced any extent of game addiction. I think the biggest reason why this game can steal so much time is because you basically have something to do (most likely, fix/improve) at every single moment after finishing exploring several planets and having a basic production streamline on the home planet. Everything is, and should be, connected. If there are disconnections in your design, you probably have to fix that and deal with any new problems on the go. It's pleasing and exhausting at the same time.

I think this is the only game I've known so far dedicated to "space exploration", rather than engineering, space battle, survival, fps, etc. The gameplay and plot are so elegantly intertwined that you are pushed to make progress not by any character telling you so, but by mere curiosity. Plus its epic music, planet design and ending, it's really a shame that this game is so overlooked. Probably the only major flaw of this game is that it truly ends, after completion and knowledge of all other secrets in the game, leaving a sense of achievement and emptiness at the same time.
