Undoubtedly a majestic recreation of the original Half-Life game. It puts great emphasis on map details, as there are a lot of things that you can see as you explore through Black Mesa. The soundtrack is what it got me pretty hard, especially the Xen soundtrack.

Speaking of Xen, the recreation of it in Source engine is such a masterpiece I literally have no words how to explain.... The guys at Crowbar Collective are gods. I would definitely play it again!

Personally I'm not into rogue-likes so this won't be a very detailed review, but this game certainly kicks butts. It has a great art, good storytelling and a OK gameplay.

The drawback though is that it's a short game in terms of contents and what you can do, therefore once you complete the story mode you're pretty much left in managing the cult, enter dungeons and kill heretics (or just play the Purgatory mode), do stuff like fishing and that's it. Repeat that again and again.

Thankfully the developers regularly update their game with new stuff, specially the introduction of local Co-op and whatnot. Overall a game I would definitely recommend!

The only drawback I have experienced so far whilst playing are the sporadic spike lags and FPS stutter. It can get quite annoying when sometimes such lags last for a minute then by pure miracle the game goes smooth again, as if the game isn't properly optimized or something. I don't know if it's caused by the fact it uses Unity as main game engine or something.

This is the first time I'm playing a Paper Mario-esque game of its kind and I want to thank both the developers and everyone who contributed to the development of this great gem. It has a variety of characters, great soundtrack and I really like the storyline.

My bit of a pet peeve is certain aspects of the game mechanics (for those who played the game for quite a while would understand) but overall I don't consider it of a big deal. This gem should definitely deserve a sequel.

Great gameplay, interesting plot and most importantly -- you play as a cat. Meow.

PS: For those who get nauseous while playing -- motion blur seems to be the culprit for people who suffer from motion sickness, like me. I disabled it completely and I could be able to continue playing this game without feeling like I was about to puke, although I won't guarantee disabling motion blur would work for everyone.

I would personally describe this game not as a regular Metroidvania but more like a Hollowvania since it follows its own style. Every aspect of the game, from the arts, soundtrack, gameplay and characters has left me speechless. Especially the music ambience when you are in the City of Tears kind of touched my heart.

Speaking of the gameplay, it was more of a love-hate relationship for me. On one hand as a platforming game you may like some bit of challenge but you will get frustrated pretty easily if you don't have patience. Combining the fact that your typical HP meter is measured by masks so whatever hits you, or if you get attacked, you will lose a mask. This game is unforgiving to those who are reckless and not careful.

The charms system in this game is quite promising and thanks to that it can least aid you at fighting bosses, interacting with the world, etc. The more you progress, the more you will acquire charms hidden in secret areas and such. As for the economy in game, this is my pet peeve. The player's economy is dictated by the amount of "Geo" you have collected and this game is pretty much too tied to it. For instance, if you are in need to discover a certain area and you have to get a map for it, you will have to purchase it (which price can vary between each area). Worst case scenario is you don't have enough Geo for that so you're in a sucky situation. You either have to kill some enemies to collect Geo or farm it.

But overall I think the positives outweigh the negatives. So far I really love this game and I have no regrets. Also Quirrel is a rad guy, anyone who disagrees must be thrown in the Abyss.

Damn, turnip boy is better at evading taxes than any other politician in this world. 10/10 would love ripping up tax documents.

Epic game with an interesting story plot and well made characters, that's all I have to say.

Couldn't finish this game in time but I am tempted enough to give it a review based on the current gameplay experience.

It's an immersive rich story plot with each character in the game having their own personality or traits, a semi open world feature where you can explore the village around and a plethora of events in the game to partake in. I also personally like the battle system of the game.

I would describe this game in one word -- epic.

The plot, the story, and the characters are truly amazing! You're being given some melancholy feelings as you explore the world where you find out that it's almost dying and your mission is to bring the Sun to the very top of the world in order to save it. Furthermore the soundtrack is truly a masterpiece.

I mainly like that in the Solstice update you can get a happy ending as well as discovering new quirks about the world. Definitely the game touches you emotionally and I'd recommend it to whoever wants a RPG game that makes you cozy.

Been playing this game way before (precisely since 2011) CS2D gets published to Steam Store. The 2D perspective may not be of a flavor for everyone but it's truly a classic and gives you a sensation of a Counter-Strike like experience.

The game has received updates and fixes overtime since its creation which improved it by a lot. Seeing CS2D is also cross-platform which means it can be played both on Linux and Mac systems, there's no need for an emulator or anything like in order to play it. Less of a burden for people whose their primary OS is not Windows.
