Honestly, feeling super unimpressed with the game as a whole so far, so I'm refunding and waiting for a sale.

You also cannot turn off raytracing, and even though I'm on a 3080Ti, I hate having not super great frames (minimum 100+).

As someone who absolutely loved Eternal, my thoughts were already skeptical when the Dark Ages were revealed. I do in fact like the shield, but its almost used too much, shield bash is cool. But there is no "wow" factor that is pulling me in.

I think its a huge step down from Eternal, Glory Kills not there, you now HAVE to use the punch/melee options which would've been a glory kill for me. The punch has a small window of no invinciblity in which you cannot move and I've gotten screwed out of a few interactions now. Punch also just tracks like the glory kill from a stupid far range putting me in a horrible posistion half the time.

Shield Parry can be activated from really far away for some reason? I think its an odd design choice to have the punch parry be able to be activated from so far away but maybe it was just my FOV (120)?

Destructible Demons (weakpoint system) is completely gone. Not sure why? It was fantastic in Eternal, why remove a good feature?

Quick Swapping not being there is another odd design choice cause they wanted to steer clear from that in 2016, but then they want you to switch to weapons to deal with demons just like in Eternal.

I really want to like this game, but its just not for me.

Honestly, if you're looking for intense gameplay along with ripping Demons in half with chainsaws, glory kills, and the BFG, then this is the game for you. If you can confidently say that you know everything about Doom 2016, then throw it out the window cause this game does not screw around in any aspect. Very innovative gameplay and the Doom Dance takes a bit to get used to but once you can do it successfully, you can master any of the combat challenges the game throws at you. Love this game and heres to another few hundred hours!
