I can't recommend the 1.0 or 1.2 releases.
It's not worth the 44 EUR. Get it when it's cheap and play their other alpha builds with mods.
1.0 is a joke. Their roadmap is also refurbished from promises made in the past decade. Can't wait for bandits, right? Right?

Update - Dec 30, 2024: 1.2 can't be called a release version. The game is in an alpha state. They are still working on systems. Have a look on their roadmap which was released around March/April 2024. You'll be disappointed.

Yes, the game is in alpha and I'll consider that and will overlook the bad start that I had before the recent update. I don't see this game a multiplayer yet. The only data exchanged is the status and the properties of your facilities, so I'll make this review based on the singleplayer-experience that I had. The graphics are not always important and I'll exlude them here.


The concept of gameplay reminded me of overthrowing the rival gangs' facilities in GTA Vice City Stories. You go to an opposite gang's building, attack it, take over the facility, upgrade it and gain profit from it and you have to defend it from time to time. It has nice aditions, that add a touch of survival to it and you can eat raw rats, crunchy.

The driving can be quite fun, especially on the more icy road and you can actually stack a lot of speed by pressing the Shift-Key.

Altough I have a lot of hiccups with shooting, as the trigger seems to be stuck, but overall the gunplay is fun. I like it though that my trigger jams sometimes, giving it a more realistic touch.


Now we come to the bad parts, which can be improved.

The initial thought is good, and it seems all pretty fair, until you count in one more factor: time.
In Singleplayer you can use a quite easy exploit to get all the money that you want or just not touch the game for a few days. (more info at the end)

Next are your very own defenses that you can upgrade on your facility. I did my money exploit mentioned above and aquired the needed money to upgrade my facility quite a lot, but I don't see any changes, no soldiers or mercenary, my facilities get overrun by Bots without further notice.

Yes, you definitely have enough power with your own firearm, but it's a flaw that I would like to see improved. What I see working is the increase of your profit.

The game definitely makes fun for a few hours, it feels like a lot of grinding for the money, where you can swap between facilities with my off-road police truck and deliver all resources from point A to B to get more fuel, sell resources and the guns I've found in the air drops to get more money, but so far the game does not provide enough fun to play it long enough to reach for the last upgrade, except you do the fairly simple exploit.

That said, please focus on the core of the game, it has enough items and weapons and all that, but what is missing is a purpose to continue playing the game.

Is the game worth it? Not for the 10$ Price Tag, you either follow the development and buy it in a later state or you you wait fot a price change.



"But what is the exploit?", you may ask now. Here you go:

1. Start the game.
   
2. Create your first save and exit.
   
3. Change the date on your PC to, let's say 1 week, you can become creative (depending on how much money you want to make).
   
4. Start the game and open your previous save.
   
5. Conquer all facilities and exit the game.
   
6. Update your date and time to your actual time.
   
7. Start the game, open your save and enjoy the riches.

I have never seen that much unnecessary panic behaviour in a video game before.
It fills me with joy!

Hitboxen und Kollisionsabfrage von Kugeln sind totaler Mist.
Dazu schein auch der Netcode nicht richtig zu funktionieren oder der Server kompletter Mist zu sein.
Dazukommen FPS Abbrüche, auch wenn der PC das Spiel locker auf höchster Grafikeinstellung handhaben kann.
Das Problem tritt nicht nur bei mir auf, sondern synchron bei allen, mit denen ich in einem Team bin.
Licht und Schattenverhältnisse sind komplett dämlich, nichts hat einen Kontrast und die Farben sind zu gesättigt.
Sound kann man sich auch nicht geben. Wenn ich einen Gegner höre, gibt mir der Sound keine Information. Nicht wie weit der Gegner weg ist, ob er sich hinter einer Wand oder über mir befindet. Man zuckt jedes mal zusammen, wenn man mit dem Rad oder Auto fährt und wird paranoid, weil man denkt, dass dies von einem Gegner kommt.
Hacker gibt es auch mehr als genug und ich brauch mir das Spiel an sich nicht länger angucken, um sagen zu können, dass es für ich unspielbar ist.

Kurzes, aber sehr liebevolles Spiel. Man sollte das Unerwartete erwarten und sich die Zeit nehmen, alles gründlich zu erforschen. Der Spannungsaufbau hat mich gepackt, und ich konnte nicht aufhören, es bis zum Ende zu spielen. Ich kann das Ende noch immer nicht ganz verarbeiten und ich muss sagen, dass das Spiel im Ganzen empfehlenswert ist.
