Great remake of an amazing classic, complete with the lauded 2D-HD aesthetic of Octopath Traveller. An amazing title to sink a few dozens hours. Simple, fun and engaging.

There are only so many games that can say they were as influential as System Shock. When first person fully rendered 3D worlds were still in their infancy, the original was already running with several concepts that became the norm all over the industry. But the game didn't necessarily age all that well, including its complicated controls and outdated graphics.
This remake, on the other hand, helps those interested in the absolutely fantastic story of System Shock to get a better glimpse at the spiritual origins of Bioshock. This is a must-play title for those interested in cyberpunk, thrillers and very eclectic gameplay mechanics.

The original was one of the funniest things I've ever played, and I'm happy the sequel is just as hilarious. While it feels a little less open-ended, it's still just as intriguing and fun.

Like everyone else here, got my key revoked years after purchasing in a bundle, still confused as to the reason - but it's clearly a widespread issue.

I was a huge fan of the original back in the day, and backed the crowdfunding campaign right away. After a fairly long wait, I was anxious to play this new version. Now, it's important to notice, this game doesn't necessarily match a lot of current trends in both visuals and gameplay - so you need to come in aware of this. But all the fun from the original is here: the original evolution of a roguelike with a twisted sense of humor that was pure 90s... and still is, now with twice the irony!
To be fair, the game needed a lot of fixing in the original release, but the studio showed a ton of commitment and fixed and added a lot of stuff months after its launch.
I think I only have one complaint, and it's kind of vague: the motion in this version feels a lot looser than in the original, which had this amazing tightness. Coupled with the bigger sprites, the whole thing might feel a bit off for diehard fans of the original... but if you played through TJ&E3 and enjoyed it, this certainly won't be a problem.

Psychonauts is a pretty unique game. Developed as a replacement for the adventure genre by the creator of Full Throttle and Grim Fandango, Psychonauts is a pretty clever plot wrapped in a mix of platforming and puzzle-solving - which is made even better by brimming with wit, charm and creativity.
I don't want to spoil anything, but the whole story is set to a summer camp for psychics. You play a kid who ran away from the circus to develop his mental powers... and slowly unravel a bizarre conspiracy.

Some elements may not have aged so well, but the game is worth for the storytelling alone.

Certain games defy explanations and expectations. The Witness is one of these games.
As stated by the creator, it's a game about epiphany. So heed this warning beforehand: you want to get in knowing as little as possible. You can know it's a puzzle-based game in the same vein as Myst... anything else is unnecessary.

There is a joy of discovery, of finding out that - after certain discoveries - you won't look at the same things the same way. The game peels off like an onion, and when you think you finally got to the center, the game subverts expectations.

Seriously, just buy it, blindly if needs be, and play it. You won't regret it.

Bioshock Infinite is an unusual game. If measured by technical standards, one could say it is an above average shooter. But there is a lot more than just the gears that make gameplay - it is a triumph in narrative, as well as a bold move by creator Ken Levine in leveraging the idea of an auteur game. He pulls no punches in playing with taboo themes such as prejudice (which most publishers would avoid to guarantee the biggest possible demographic) and throws some potentially offensive/unpopular moments. But this is a game that will stir a lot in you.

It should be noted, the game is very different from the trailers/previews shown months before release. The game had to be entirely retooled because of its overambitious goals, so if you are expecting something like the old E3 demos, you are in for disappointment. But if you came for the same brilliant ambiance seen in the original Bioshock, an emotional rollercoaster and thought-provoking steampunk storytelling, you are in for quite a ride. Just "pardon the dust" on the not-so-polished gameplay, probably a leftover from the game's last-minute deconstruction and reconstruction. All things considered, the final product is still impressive, even if the playability isn't nothing to write home about. It's how the game tugs at your heartstrings that counts.
