This game is outright hilarious at some point and utterly horrifying at another. Did a session with a group of pals this weekend, and we had some amazing laughs. Great game for hanging out with others.

Phoenix Point is honestly a very well done game in all regards, and every DLC adds more to your list of things to fight and things to use for fighting. I've yet to finish it myself, but I've been having a huge amount of fun playing it on rookie, and I bet I will continue to do so.

The fun, however does get a bit halted towards the end game, which I'm at now, as you get extremely overwhelmed by everything. I tried my best to keep on top of everything, and I am still in a situation where the behemoth from festering skies is wrecking everything while I've yet to find a way to combat it, the virus has spread everywhere, all the factions are at war and a lot of the key objectives are unreachable as the game decided to throw them half across the globe to a place I've yet to activate any bases at all while resources are getting scarce.

It went from chill to "how am I suppose to get rid of all these threats?!" very quickly, so my final points are:

-Most of the game is well paced in terms of rising difficulty, but gets overwhelming at the end game due to the fact that every DLC starts throwing all its elements at you. If these events were more spread out on the timeline (such as the egg hatching), it might be more manageable.

-The difficulty options in the game are a lot more intense than their XCOM 2 counterparts. Rookie is on par with Veteran in that game, and Veteran is on par with Legend. Started my original Phoenix Point on Veteran only to have to turn it down because things got too stressful.

-I love the idea of unique characters with unique voices you can find and recruit, and wish they would make more, or give us the ability to make our own, as they make the world feel even more alive. I've made it a rule to only ever restart a mission if one of them dies (such as Sophia, who I sort of have as a leader figure). If there was a way to add a unique voiced character, I'd hire some professional voice actors right away to personalize the experience.

-I love the different styled factions and vehicles, but wish we had a more advanced dying options like a color wheel. A lot of the paintjobs just don't match if you're mixing and matching since they color "over" the original colors instead of replacing them.

-The line of sight mechanic and the line based overwatch are superior to what XCOM had done as it allows for more strategic planning and prevents the infamous situation XCOM was known for where you could be shot through several layers of solid objects despite the fact the enemy had no visual on you.

It also seems to register how many objects block their line of fire, lowering their chances to hit.

Wasteland 3 is a game that nails down my every checkmark for an awesome RPG. It has absolutely explosive combat, a strong narrative, multiple ways to approach situations and multiple endings. Those aspects only being topped by its amazing soundtrack, its stunning visuals, and its balanced gameplay.

I was really doubtful when I first received it, but it truly kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole experience. I really felt like I was roaming through a snowstorm infested mountain range, and there was no real frustration to be met.

The original Divinity Original Sin is a well written and artistically designed game that suffers greatly from terrible balancing, insane difficulty levels, and unfair combat scenarios that unless approached in very specific way offer little to no variety in terms of gameplay. While playing, you often find yourself in situations when one encounter is handled with ease, and another leads to an almost immediate party wipe despite both encounters being of the same level and the same area.

I at some point had more issues with a level 8 miniboss than I did with most lvl 16 encounters. I had to go back to it with a level 14 group just to be able to kill it. Same goes with some other encounters, as I had to be over-leveled to even stand a chance, and XP was a rare commodity.

During the last boss I had to decrease the difficulty from classic (normal) to explorer (easy), and even then it was an utter struggle as my resources were depleted from having to take down 2 bosses in a row, and the final one was overpowered to the limit of the definition. I quite literally couldn't finish the game.

You name it, they had it: 10 k hp ( I dealt 200 damage with full divine gear) , resistance to everything, resistance to resistance debuffs, the ability to kill most targets in a single hit, immunity to stunning, and constant help from waves of equally as powerful minions.

I love the second game, and the story of the first, so I'd love to give the game a positive review, but given the amount of frustration I faced playing it, I will simply have to go negative. In no sane world should a "normal" difficulty cause frustration or require constant reloading.

This game has some extremely fun gunplay combined with an outright charming cyberpunk atmosphere, and some great musical design. I enjoyed every minute of it, and honestly hope the game is expanded upon further in the future. That ending definitely had me hooked for more.

When I started off Dark Souls 2, I was very pleased by how much more forgiving most boss battles were, and how mysterious the setting was, but over time, the storytelling became way to vague to be enjoyable. The objective kept shifting, your character seem to have no motivation for doing half the things you made em do, and unless you explored every area prior to going to a certain castle, you would have no idea why you're even there.

Directions given by NPCs were also very vague, and once you actually found the places you were "meant to go to", you ended up confused as hell. Sometimes you just got items, and were supposed to piece together your objective.

Overall:

Pros:
-Less linear than Dark Souls 3 (have yet to play 1)
-Less rage-worthy bosses
-Fresh feeling due to the obscure nature of the land

Cons:
-Story loses all logic half way through the game
-Story assumes you've visited all locations and know what's going on even if you haven't.
-Soul Memory prevents pvp and co op matching after a certain amount of souls have been acquired
-Locations don't even seem to be physically linked.

Overall the premise of the story is good, but it's told so poorly in certain spots that it just degrades the whole experience.

I've never watched the show up to this point, but this game was rather interesting. I have some reservations about the limited choices one could choose from, but besides that, it was a very well put together narrative experience.

In the future, I hope that Telltale will shine even more when they get their hands on an IP with limited if no content set in the future so that they can have full or near-full creative direction.

Paper Lily has definitely been an interesting experience so far. It's freaky one second, and lighthearted the next. Seriously looking forward to Chapter 2.

An amazing follow-up game to the original experience that really delivered in every way that It did. Shedding light on many things previously unknown or unexplained to us.

Scarlet Hollow is honestly of the best narrative horror experiences that I've had in ages. It starts off slow, and introduces you to a town full of interesting characters, then delves deep into the wicked and the horrifying, keeping both the moments of joy and horror equally balanced and well presented. What's more, it kept me excited and on the edge of my seat the entire time. Definitely a must have item in your library!
