Such a cutesy game that I had great fun exploring and bonding with the townsfolk. Almost makes you forget about the horrifically twisted reality lurking in the depths... almost.

PS: I need a dedicated button to hug Joxxi after all that. Good lord.

Overall I'm enjoying the general concept of the game and the puzzle solving that comes with it. That said, there are still some minor bugs I've encountered during my short playtime but otherwise not game breaking and the developer appears to be making a genuine effort to fix them as they appear.

Bugs encountered:
- Game got mixed up between the circuit and conveyor building screens causing weird behaviour on both. Deleted the writer block and it fixed itself.
- Shift dragging conveyors use the start of the mouse drag as reference, rather than when shift was pressed, causing some unintended conveyor shapes. Noticeable when dragging in an L shape and using shift on the second half.

User Experience:
- The circuits could do with a little more hand holding such as descriptive tooltips when hovering over the in/out nodes and optional grid snapping. This would help with the level 2 understanding problem.
- Can we have double-click edit custom nodes and shift-click change their type? Took me a moment to understand how they worked when the output changed based on what I typed.

If you don't mind a fun little puzzle game with some admittedly rough edges, at least for now, I still recommend giving this game a go!

Early Access Review
Ever wondered how a computer starts from an on-off switch and becomes something as complex as a CPU but need something a little more hands on than a textbook? Well this may be just the game for you. Even as a software engineer this game is an amazing little brain twister, challenging your thinking about low level solutions to high level tasks, then build upon those very concepts piece by piece to do some truly intricate computation.

As someone who enjoys modular synths and zach-like puzzle games, Signal State is a bit conflicting to me. A lot of the difficulty in this game isn't from the puzzles themselves or some clever obstruction but rather unnecessary limitations and meaningless metrics. For example, not having stackable plugs as you would in a real rack forces you to waste a lot of space on unnecessary splitter modules and messy wiring.

Now I could overlook the first issue but the latter is quite frustrating as the game scores you on wire length. This can lead to hours trying to mangle an otherwise tidy solution in order to cut down on the smallest fraction of distance. You can't necessarily ignore it either because unlike other zach-likes, Signal State combines all these stats into a single score. I feel like I'm being penalised for wanting to organise my racks or not using the developer intended minimum solution.

If you ignore all of that however and just play casually then sure it's a great game especially for people into modular racks even if it is a little short. I would recommend this to someone just getting into zach-like games but if you're already waist deep in min-maxing then this might not be all that challenging for you. All the growing pains aside, I still love the concept.

Let me start by saying, if you're getting this game to only focus on getting/using a set few weapons or Warframes, speeding through content, or only do quests, you're probably going to have a bad time. That said, it is an awesome game with hundreds of hours of content ranging from an expansive array of weapons and Warframes to hoards of enemies to lay waste to with an insanely robust modding system.

Now yes there IS grinding but if you're grinding the same resource for hours you're probably doing yourself a disservice. Get some friends and just enjoy wrecking armies and plowing through the solar system and you'll find you'll collect all the resources you need for the next weapon along the way anyway. Same goes for weapons, don't focus on that one overpowered endgame gear, it's endgame for a reason and trying to power your way to it is not going to be a fun experience.

As for the premium currency (platinum), money is NOT the only way to get it. Platinum can be traded between players, usually for rare drops. Got lucky with a Prime blueprint but can't use it anytime soon? See if anyone is buying it and then go treat yourself to some badass decor with that sweet Platinum. Many things in the store are also available through alerts, events, clan research and drops so don't assume it's always going to be locked behind paywalls.

Other things to note:
- The true meta end game is Fashion Frame
- Mastery Rank doesn't necessarily determine skill. it's more like equipment usage
- Warframe is constantly getting free content updates for more things to do
- I'm nearing 400hrs and I'm still only about a 3rd through the content...
