I played this game for close to 30 hours and am done with the main story as well as some of the side quests. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the skill progression system and the fighting.
The really tiring part of this game is walking. It likes to send you from one end to the map to the other, then back. There are a few options to "quicktravel". The "wormholes" teleport you randomly to a different location, so unless you are on the farthest point of your target it's not worth it. The "Pneumatic Lines" transport you on a given route, but there is way to few of those. Once you get the skill that allows for endless stamina unless in battle it's better, but now you are mindlessly running through the map, ruining the immersion.
The next part I disliked was the advanced/endgame crafting recipies. These are only craftable in one specific location in which you do not have access to your personal chest. So you have to pre plan and pack everything required to craft these, travel to the location of the crafting bench and then travel back since you forgot some crucial part.
While there is probably some sort of skill tree internally you do not get to see it. Every level up you get to pick one of three options, not knowing whether this will unlock other, cooler options. The level cap is also currently at 40 so once you hit that there does not seem to be a way to get more skills.
Finally the progression system. I have been playing this for some time, with a long break when the UnrealEngine didnt like Windows7. This means I may have missed things a new player would have gotten explained starting fresh. But there are parts of the game which would have been much better early game then late game, like liberating parts of the island to get more traders. Also the "artifact" feature was introduced very late in the story and was not really explained. This means that I only ever got one artifact and I have no idea how/when.
While the Blindman bossfight was mostly hitting, running away, healing I enjoyed it as a challenging change of pace.
Finally then story. I personally enjoyed it. Up until the very end that throws a puzzle into your face without any sort of explanation(or I did not find it) and then... Well lets just say I am not a fan of this ending at all. So little actually that it tainted the whole experience.
