Early Access Review
TL;DR the game has good bones and medium mechs make my bones hurt

Do you enjoy being a ratfuc*er in video games like Tarkov? Skittering around like a little cockroach waiting to get your crumbs? Then this is the game for you. The amount of cheek clenching potential in this game with even the base level enemies is enough to get your blood pumping.

Now, this is an Early Access game, meaning that there are plenty of bugs and mechanical issues. Some enemies will stare you dead in the eyes and not aggro, and some will pinpoint you from half a mile away. Ground textures can be unstable and vaulting is a bit janky. Sometimes attachments disappear from weapons or will swap with another weapon from your inventory. The weapon looting system so far seems a bit underwhelming, where any weapons you collect seem to only have a sell value instead of the potential to fix and re-use. The weapon / rig modification system also leaves a bit to be desired, as they're not very intuitive or user-friendly. Definitely had to do a bit of poking around just to kit out an AK, something Congolese children can figure out how to use.

With all that said, it's still a ton of fun. There's a lot of potential in this game if it keeps getting fleshed out and developed. I will definitely be paying close attention to this one in the coming months and cannot wait to see more!

I'm gonna start by saying this is probably the most robust vehicle combat game available, it's super fun to play with friends and I have sunk hundreds of hours into this game without even thinking about it.

That said, this has turned into such an insufferably grindey game, and Gaijin is getting way too out of pocket with their pay structuring and tech tree. You essentially have to pay money in some form to get into the higher tiers, as repair costs become out of control in proportion to your Tier Rank + how many upgrades you have on your plane, which is absurd. If you don't have premium time or equipment, it's basically impossible to move up in the ranks due to how predatory the repair costs have become.

Couple this with unfoldering vehicles causing a lengthier grind, top tier plane / tank options at $70 USD that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ level 5s can just buy and crash into teammates, and a litany of other slow burn issues that have compiled over time, it's not worth playing if you don't have the money to invest.

For newer players that don't really understand the context of how it got so bad over time when there was such a robust player base, just look at some videos of the game from 6-7 years ago that dive into the tech tree and compare it to what absolute tomfoolery litters the tech tree today.
