while the gameplay is nothing to write home about, the uniqueness of its presentation, and the heart with which its presented carry this game very far. A short, pleasant game which would be easy to recommend to anyone.

Frankly incredible. One of few games I am pursuing 100%ing and am having fun doing so.

Simple tower defense and RTS elements, very satisfying. Easy to learn, with lots of variety.

Not without some flaws in balance, features, and pacing, but Skald is a triumph for the one man team. It's nostalgic, but extremely competent. It is a joy to play through, and each of its systems functions without much issue.

You explore an extremely cool and original world, and visit all sorts of weird towns and people. If you like exploration, and a more 'laid back' gameplay style, this just might be for you.

I felt it was a little lacking in actual RPG systems, and the "three skillcheck" system often felt like it almost never mattered except to gain access to additional loot. I was disappointed there weren't more opportunities for creative problem solving.

The "final decisions" of a lot of the questlines are all very compelling and thought provoking, While the content of the quests aren't particularly stirring, I think the philosophy around them is very intriguing.

Overall, a good game - very inspiring.

I have absolutely no idea how this game has a 97% positive rating.

It is extremely ugly, has poor art direction, terrible gameplay, a forgettable soundtrack, middling dialogue. I stuck it through to the end hoping for some great payoff, but it just wasn't worth it in the end.

I went in to this thinking time travel was going to be an actual game mechanic, but after the intro it's never really used again for any gameplay purpose.

I can tell what the makers were going for, but it's just far too ambitious for their skill level on display. I will say - they know how to make a tantalizing story, I thought it was pretty interesting, but I had hoped they'd be able to finish strong, but instead of fell on its face.
