When I first ever played through this game I did so unknowingly in advanced mode. So while the puzzles were good i thought they were too hard at the time. Eventually I solved them and completed the game so now I feel like an idiot knowing I should have played on normal. Regardless, this is a quality experience. I believe it fills the need for something more in the portal universe while not straying too far from whats already been put down. Some of the voice acting isn't up to par with the games themselves. But ultimately what can you expect? I don't know of a single person out there who could emulate JK Simmons voice perfectly. Since that's about the only complaint I have, I'd say this is definitely worth a playthrough or two.

The first 20 minutes of this game are a trudge... The introduction of the supernatural forces on this mountain, not only is done poorly, but is done in such a way that the original threat is not clear that it is an actual threat, on top of the fact that it does not prepare you for any additional threat after this. I also hold the opinion that the creators of this game never experienced an actual winter storm. The reason for this being the sound design. However, this game does have some redeeming factors. The open world exploration factor lets you complete the game at your own pace. And a class A narrator allows for you to relax whenever he interjects. Just be aware that there are threats in this world, and most of them are not properly introduced. I definitely do not condone buying this game at its full price. The story being told is too open-ended to merit that price tag.

I would like to make two points in this review. One, the non-linear path makes the game kind of frustrating to follow. However, i need to point out that the story is beautiful once it is pieced together. There are scenes in this game that will absolutely break your heart.

Just push plaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ja-ja-just push play. An amazing game, amazing visuals.

Still a really enjoying game to me. Playing madhouse without any of the bonus items is extremely stressful. I'd imagine VR is excellent. The DLC is well worth it in my opinion. Most have tidbits of the story and some help wrap this game up with a nice bow. The other mini-games that are added have given this game many more entertainment hours. My personal goal is to collect every bonus reward from every gamemode.

This was my first ever mainstream trials game, alongside it's sister game, Trials Frontier. They are both extremely well planned and executed. They both have tracks that you'll want to tear your hair out over but they're all worth it. The DLC bring great new story elements and help tie the two games together. I recommend this game, all of its DLC, and the free mobile game, Trials Frontier.
