Brilliant Civ-like turn-based strategy game with a deep diplomacy system. Gorgeous art and a broad range of mechanics that interact in interesting ways. Somehow every 3+ hour game comes down to the wire and anyone could win. Great for creating genuine animosity between (former) friends.

The Stanley Parable is one of the most remarkable games I've ever played.

It is a game about games. It's about the relationship between the player and the game and the interactivity that makes this medium unique.

That's about as much as I can say about The Stanley Parable without giving anything away. There are no mechanics bound to your keyboard and mouse beyond move, look, open doors and push buttons. The central mechanic of the game is your choice and your perception of the game, incarnated as the Narrator.

The game is essentially a choose your own adventure book, elevated to become something truly special by excellent writing, one of the endings features a profound paradox, and phenomenal delivery by the Narrator.

The Stanley Parable is extremely clever, amusing and thought-provoking. An absolute must-buy, though I would recommend playing the demo first.
