It's kinda short, I've 100% completed it in 6 hours so I don't know if it was worth the full 30. That said, those 6 hours were great fun and it's nicely polished.
Devolver, you've done it again you bloody maniacs.

Celeste is a beautiful, challenging game. The platforming is difficult and you will die often, but it never seems insurmountable and you can watch yourself slowly improve over the course of a level.

The story is charming, heartbreaking and inspiring all at once (particular shout-out to my boy Theo, he's a legend), and has some really important things to say about mental health and anxiety.

After the main story is completed, extra strawberries/cassette tapes/crystal hearts/B-side levels provide hours and hours of replay value and extra content, which I really appreciate because as I said, the game is so good that I needed more. Celeste was happy to provide.

All in all, 10/10 absolute joy to play.

The friendly FPS where nobody has to die.

But they will.

I got distracted hacking open my CD drive.
I got distracted forkbombing myself.
I got distracted deleting key files and recovering them over and over again.
I got distracted reading other people's emails.

Also, apparently there's a pretty decent story or someting. I dunno.

I'm sprinting around from cover to cover. Smoke shrouds me from the enemy. I sneakily climb to the roof and take 2 out from my new vantage point. The others see me, so I run. I run far, far away and recoup. I reload my rifle, and even my secondary pistol. If I run out of bullets, that pistol could save my life.

I'm ready.

I crawl my way along until I reach a hot zone. I check my equipment, throw a smoke grenade and enter the fight. I shoot one. I've lined up my next shot... I take a breath... AAARRR PEEEEE GEEEEE!
10/10 would spontaneously combust again

Incredible game, particularly the combat. You can button-mash your way through most fights, and that will work, but once you get the hang of it and start timing your hits and planning ahead, the combos add up and you start really feeling like Batman.

The stealth is also great, as well as the atmosphere and lore of the batman universe. It's obvious the devs have put a lot of time and effort into making the game the best it can be, and making it sure it always feels exactly like Batman.

Only thing is, Batman doesn't kill and I imagine that slamming a door on someone's throat would in fact, kill them. Other than that, the game is perfect.

Batman/10, would slam car doors down on throats again.

There is a man who will teach you Kung Fu. In order to qualify for his dojo, you must repeatedly throw yourself off a cliff in front of him, taking more and more damage.

Playing LISA gives you a similar feeling.

"TERRORIST!"
Shopkeeper flips his ♥♥♥♥, starts shooting at me. I jump on a rope and start climbing.
Shopkeeper falls onto spikes and dies.
I go back to shop and steal everything else.

10/10 Ocean's Eleven the Game.
