strength stat is totally useless
vibro weapons don’t even care if you have 9 strength or 99
literally every other stat does more for melee than strength does:
agility? hit more often and dodge
toughness? tank better
intelligence? get more skills
willpower? recharge faster
ego? intimidate your enemies with the points you didn't waste on strength

cybernetics are hot garbage
mutants have all the cool stuff at level 1
multiple legs, force fields, flight
meanwhile, true kin get a magnetic sensor so they can find the nearest turret to end their run and play mutant instead
mutants hit level 10, outrun everything, kite and kill like they’re playing an FPS
by the time you get a good cybernetic, mutants already are in brightsheoul partying with the eaters
cybernetics don’t even scale, unless you consider using half your equip slots for compute power to get 10% bonus good scaling
mutants get infinite scaling and new abilities forever just by leveling
true kin? stuck with whatever random cyber implant they can loot
can't install extra limbs
can't install bionic liver and heart at the same time, for some reason
best implant by far is motorized treads, so you can run away from 90% of the enemies because they'll reck you
only got to brightsheoul because i found aforementioned motorized treads

evil factions are literal boogeymen
can’t talk to them
no base to visit
no leader to interact with
they only show up to remind you “we’re evil, look, we attack good guys and eat babies or whatever”
can immediately tell who the good guys are because they have an actual presence in the world
evil factions stop existing the moment the story doesn't need them
book written by the good guys on them is like “putus hierarchy bad, but also girsh chaos bad, but girsh trolling the hierarchy to death good”
every year i come back and replay it and the main quest remains unfinished

the community for this game is absurdly insular
have modding question
try to join the discord
get put into a waiting queue
expect to wait 15 minutes
seven days pass because admittance to a video game discord is vury surious business
get banned for corpo-speak reason of "poor community fit"
