Monster Hunter: World?
Not a masterpiece, but not a failure either. The version for the PS4 and XBOX One are fantastic, run at a native 60fps, with a bit of stuttering. The PC port, we all know- has had atrocious bugs and crashes that effect the player base and the overall way fans have recieved the game. Now I am a little biased on this series. I own and have played every Monster Hunter game since the PS2 original (Set aside the Japanese only Online G games.) and am a old hunter at heart. This is my favorite IP. Ever. But, setting all biases aside, lets look at this critically.

Monster Hunter: World is a great game. The first of its kind for this series, with superior graphics- but in no way does that make the portable and early games from this series worse for ware. They added new features, new Monsters, new game mechanics and a fresh new perspective to keep old and new hunters captivated by its gameplay and possibilities.

As for the bad that it has given us, it's mostly on the PC port- this port. The PC port has a crashing issue that will happen either immediately upon install, sometimes it will only crash if you alt+tab out of the program, and some people have had a crash 2 seconds after the second launch of the program. Not only that, but the game is a huge CPU hog, that will make the game stutter and disallow preallocation for your computer to run anything else efficiently.

Until Capcom releases a patch for these issues, with its infamous anti piracy bugs, crashing, stuttering and CPU takeover- I dont suggest buying this game just yet. For everyone who really wants to play and can't really wait I have a solution for you if you are willing to put in the time. Make sure your computer is up to date, whatever OS you have, please update it to mnake sure your compatibility is up to date for the programs you run. NEXT, Update your graphics driver to the most up to date version you can. Wether it be NVIDIA or AMD or any other for that matter. For the LAST part, Look at this steam thread: https://steamproxy.com/app/582010/discussions/3/1745594817439431537/?ctp=26 and follow the instructions for what you need to do. This will allow the game to run in Fullscreen without crashing and should prevent crashing all together. The mod for this game in this thread adds a highly customizable Optimization menu to the game, that will allow you to get it running at a smooth 30fps for low end builds, and a smooth 60fps for high end builds.

Now, most of this review was Tech support for the bugs, but in no way can I give this a "No" This is a great game. Just wait for those fixes Capcom has promised or follow my instructions. The time of fixing it is worth the game, The 60$ is also worth it.

You're in for a Bittersweet treat.
