I can't believe I waited 2 years to play this game. Great gameplay and shooting mechanics, top-notch visuals, excellent characters and level designs, amazing soundtrack - yet all those things mentioned pales in comparison why I consider this one of the best games I've played in recent years, if not ever.

It is the rich story, deep character back stories and personalities, and a near-perfect pacing that few games achieve makes Wolfenstein an unforgettable experience. I really can't say anything bad about this game other than the lack of a proper SLI support, which limited my playthrough to medium/high settings yet still looking on par or better than most AAA games that came out this year or the last.

In a world where multiplayer-focused, increasingly larger and larger open-worlds, or overly hyped mass appeal games flood the current gaming market, it is refreshingly nice to see that there is still room for a story-driven single-player experience.

Wolfenstein: The New Order is a true gem, and a must-play for anyone with a steam account!

In retrospect, after about 80 hours into the game, the exclamation point at the end of the game title should have been a clue as to what i should have expected this game to have been. (clarifications towards the end of the review)

Borderlands: The Pre-sequel! promises to bridge the story gap between the two main Borderlands games and delve deeper into the development of the - IMHO - most interesting pseudo-anti-hero/villain (yes, i know its a very niche field) in very recent memory, and it does that job real well. But for a full game admission fee, i expected a full game experience.

As a fan of the series, a lot of things in BLPS! felt like rehashes from BL2. Guns with slightly different effects appearance, vending machines that are exactly the same except for the decals, and Oz Kits which are basically Relics re-branded with a little more functionality. Even the HUD, UI, and the Main menu screens are carbon copies of their BL2 counterpart. It felt like 2K Australia put more effort into replicating the look and feel of the previous game rather than making an entirely new experience. Not to say there are nothing new to BLPS!, in fact, some game mechanics like double jumping and butt slamming, equipment grinding, and the new cryo elemental effects (and even non-game mechanic changes like a slightly different way of retelling the story in TVHM) are some of the things that i believe should be staples of the series for games to come.

With everything considered, BLPS! is still a game I would recommend, and a must for any Borderlands fan. The only real qualms I have with this game is the price, thou it is close to a full game experience, It feels like it could have just as well been a stand-alone expansion for BL2. Coincidence or intentional, the exclamation point in the game title sums up what i felt playing though the story - that it was just a huge side mission to fill the void in anticipation for what i hope to be their next main release - Borderlands 3.

P.S.
Dev's promised that the season pass would include all future DLCs, which i still believe should have been part of the base game, its still better than charging for DLCs post 'season-pass'.

TL;DR:
- Fans of the series, get it. Unique story of old favourites and new characters, and new mechanics that keeps the game somewhat fresh yet still familiar.
- New to borderlands, i recommend getting Borderlands 2 first. With all of its intended content released, if feels a more polished complete game. And it is cheaper too.
