Some caveats to my own opinion: I am new to The Last of Us, and have been waiting for a PC release to embark on the game for my very first time. I've somehow managed to avoid spoilers.

Regarding the actual game, it's gorgeous, the characters are supremely well written and so much more endearing than I thought they would be.

I am running a 3060 (not TI), core i5, a reasonably quick SSD, and 16gb of ram. I got reasonable performance. I encountered one crash during my play through, and there were certain sections that dropped framerates to unplayable levels. 3-5 FPS during these stutter events. I found if I stopped, waited for whatever to load to finish, after 15-20 seconds it would go away. I was fortunate in that this didn't happen during any combat encounters.

The technical problems should have been sorted. There's no real excuse for it, this is a full priced game that's been out for something like a decade. However, for what the game brought to me, on the merits of the game, and not it's technical performance, it is a hard game to not recommend. Worth playing through, though perhaps find the PS4 or PS5 versions if possible.

Game's going in a good direction. Worth picking up if you enjoy asymmetrical PVP games and can understand this game is not, and never will be competitively balanced.
