The game looks good, but the mechanics are clunky, the single player campaign is based around CO-OP PLAY?!? MP is grindy, and boring. Honestly the only thing that would get me to play it is the fact its 40k. But, I have much more fun with games like helldiver 2, The difficulties are poorly implemented, as it just decreases your damage, and increases enemy damage.

Positives? Sure, the guns FEEL good, plasma feels like plasma, it sounds great, and the effects look really good. The initial classes are a solid base, and you can get some enjoyment out of trying all 6 different ones, though only 4 really seem to have particularly different playstyles.

all in all, I'd give it like, a 6/10.

If you are a fan of games like pillars of eternity, baldurs gate, neverwinter, ad infinium, then I highly recommend this game for you.

The story is fantastic, as it is based off one of Paizo's most popular Adventure Paths for their Table top game Kingmaker. The artwork and music are great as well. The combat can be rewarding, and you can decide the path your kingdom will take. Be that of a Lawful, just, and good kingdom that protects the innocent and carries out strict laws, or an evil one, that takes advantage of people, and uses underhanded tactics. The choice of classes is exceptionally varied, and most classes feel different enough from others.
However, there are a few shortcomings. The voice acting, while exceptionally done when it is there, sadly, is only there for about 20% of the game. Normally only coming in at key points, or particularly during the start of the game. I feel this was likely due to a time constraint. Due to the large amount of bugs, both game breaking and not, on its release. However, I have highly grown to greatly respect the developers diligence in their work to tirelessly fix these issues and bugs, many of which were dealt with in under a day of being discovered, leading to an almost bug free experience today.
The combat, while it can be rewarding, and look great, can be strange at first and feel clunky. The biggest issue being the game works on a psuedo turn based timer, instead of entirely turn based. Combat is set in "rounds", with each character getting either
1. Attacks
2. A spell.
This limits the amount of intricate character builds you can use, unless you are willing to take an exceptionally long time during fights making frequent use of the "pause" button.
And the way difficulty works in this game, is exceptionally frustrating. The way Owlcat implemented difficulty levels was simply to increase the enemies starting stats. Which, with out the base rules of the table top pathfinder game work, exponentially increases the difficulty of the game at earlier levels. With enemies that will rarely miss your characters, and are nigh unhittable by your own.

If you want a fantastic story, set in a wonderful setting of high fantasy, mixed in with some yearning for class dungeon crawling, with decent to good combat mechanics, Pathfinder:Kingmaker would be a wonderful purchase for you. Overall, I would give it a 7.5 or 8 out of 10.
