Disclaimer: I have never played any other Final Fantasy game prior to this so my knowledge or opinion of lore is irrelevant to this review

I've been playing MMOs since 2006, and this is my first subscription based game. I started FFXIV by being bribed by my Guild Wars 2 friends to raid with them. Graphic wise this game is great after being relaunched in 2.0. Gameplay compared to most other MMOs may be slow until you pick up your job, but plays nicely at endgame content. FFXIV offers great cross platform play, accessibility and customization for both the PC and PS4 platform. However, the game still lacks a lot of Quality of Life features such as a wardrobe or dye system from Guild Wars 2.

Whether you're a lore consumer, MMO casual, or hardcore raider. If you are fine with paying a ~$15 subscription fee for hundreds or thousands of hours in an MMO, FFXIV can be an MMO for you.
