I like the USA because they have cheaper units that are really quite good for their price. I am however an Infantry General so I like the fact that I can put the british to shame just because of sheer numbers, thanks to the Min. Men who are so cheap ro to recruite but also a great way to bulster your army and then fit in more elite units. I find that Artillary is allmost always useless other than to create a false sense of urgency you bring the fight to the enemy with the artillary.. However if the player does have like 3 to 5 4 inch morters than they are possibly capable of seriously damaging an army that is mostly comprised of infantry but it also mean theat they spent most of they're money on the most expensive piece of artillary and are sure to have close to or less than 50% of the soldiers I have...
Any thoughts?
I played as the Shimazu Clan, what is everyones personal favorites? I was either going Shimazu or the Date clan. Shimazu because they have Shimazu Katana Samuri as their special unit + the location next to most of the resources and the Dynamo's +1 to diplomacy really helps in the begining. The Date clan has Date No-Datchi Samuri, which is apealing but they are more suited for attack and once you challenge the shogunate you'll need attack and deffensive units and the Shimazu Katana Samuri do just that and at a cheap price to upkeep.
