I really like the game itself, especially after 1.0.
The atmosphere, the music, the graphic design, everything just fits.
Simply running around in this game just feels right.
But man, once you progress past the outer wall and get to the higher tiered materials the game gets progressively more and more grindy and tiring. The more advanced the resource, the more you need of it.
Copper armor is around 6 bars per piece, Solarite armor, which we are at currently, needs around 30-35 bars per piece.
And this goes for everything, equip, craftingstations. boss spawners, everything just gets more and more tedious the farther you progress.
The resources you need get more and more harder to acquire due to beeing farther away from spawn, stronger enemies, etc., yet you instantly need more of it than you needed of the ore before. This just keeps you stuck in the "my gear is too low for this biome, but i need to get the resource of this biome to get the right gear to survive this biome"-Phase for way longer than it should.
It's no fun progressing if everything progress gives you is just a longer list of stuff you need to get.

As said, i really like this game itself, i love building little cottages, decorating and simply just enjoying the wonderful soundtrack while doing some fishing or farming.
But the grind in the later stages really muddies the water for me, so much in fact that i just cant give it the thumbs up it should deserve.
It's also not that i dont recommend it at all, it really has some redeeming qualities, the grind is just not for me personally, that's more of a preference thing i guess.

Stunning Game.

Runs absolutely fine for me, 40fps in the main town, 60fps or higher basically everywhere else on highest settings 1440p.

Story was alright for most part of the game, but the true ending was incredible.
Gameplay was a blast all the way through, the fighting is satisfying and fun, the pawn system works wonderfully (finally a game that manages not to make every single npc borderline retardet but actually helpful) and the world is done absolutely beautiful.
Really gets you fully immersed in the world, exploration is rewarding and fun with lots of locations to find and something around every corner.

How people trashed this game online for the first week seems incredibly unfair, yes there are microtransactions, yes this is a singleplayer game, but they don't force them on you at all and every thing that can be bought can be acquired through simply playing the game.
Not once did i even think about getting even one of the things for real money.

Somehow they managed to make scorched earth run even worse than the island, at least for me.
on island i had 60-90fps with occasional dips under 40, that was absolutely playable for me. But damn, scorched earth i dont even get over 40fps, not very fun.
Here's hoping they fix that in due time, but seeing how much work they put into island performance (which isnt much), i won't get my hopes to high

In essence, this is a resounding recommendation for purchase, as the accomplishments achieved here are highly commendable. Indeed, a robust PC is required for optimal performance, but the awaited evolution in the gaming industry has manifested, and we can anticipate it happening more frequently in the near future; this is not groundbreaking news. I also find the price, assuming everything aligns smoothly with the myriad DLC remasters, to be more than justified. This isn't merely a matter of slapping on a few new textures and calling it a day; substantial effort has been invested, incorporating numerous quality-of-life improvements and enhancing the terrain. Considering it's a Wildcard Early Access Release, to be honest, it pleasantly surprises.

The only aspect that truly, and I mean truly, bothers me is the excessively frequent occurrences of crashes. It seems the game, depending on it's own mood, crashes 5-30 times per day, without exaggeration, inevitably erasing all progress since the last save. What's particularly frustrating is the impeccable timing of these crashes, often happening after dedicating the last 30 minutes to building a base or finally taming a high-level dino after an extensive search. Once this issue is resolved, this game will be exactly what I've always desired, especially considering I've already invested over 100 hours into it, despite the persistent crashes.
If you loved Evolved, you'll love Ascended.

Edit for scorched Earth:
Somehow they managed to make the game run even worse on scorched earth than it did on the island, at least for me. I can't get anything over 40fps, even on medium to low settings. On the island i had 60-90fps with dips under 40 but man, scorched is unplayable like this.
Here's hoping for them to somehow fix this, but seeing how much they've done performance wise regarding the island (which really wasn't a lot), i won't get my hopes to high tbh.

(Solely based on Singleplayer experience, havn't tried multiplayer yet)

Wow.
Speechless. The amount of love for detail that's embedded in this, the almost endless possibilities to shape the story, the palpability that EVERY character brings here, incredible. And all of this for €60 as a complete package.
No copy-paste encounters with Goblin 1-8 respawning every 3 minutes or something like that, no, here you have a world created from start to finish with pure love and craftsmanship.
This is what gaming should be.
Games that have captivated me like bg3, made me feel so deeply connected to everything that's happened, I can count them on one hand. It's an experience one must have.

Yes, there are still bugs here and there, performance struggles, especially in Act 3, but I only say "over 1000 bug fixes" in the first major patch, which was already there 2-3 weeks after release, not to mention the several hotfixes that were dropped in between.
Larian is 100 percent committed to BG3, and not just for the money, but out of love for gaming itself. And you can feel that, both in the quality of the product itself and in the loud cheers from the entire gaming community, and rightly so.

Buy, buy, buy.

Wow, einfach nur wow.
Die Story, die wunderschön gemachte Welt, die detailverliebtheit bei Charakteren, Quests, Dungeons und quasi sonst auch allem, einfach genial.
Da fühlt man sich tatsächlich schlecht weil man sowas gratis bekommen hat.
Das ist was skyrim hätte sein sollen, grandiose Story, filmreifes Voiceacting, tatsächliche entscheidungsfreiheit an mehreren stellen, oft vor allem an wichtigen stellen wo es tatsächlich auch was ausmacht, sowas gutes hab ich noch nicht oft gespielt.
Absolute empfehlung, muss man gespielt haben.

Graphics astonishing, gameplay takes all the good from forest 1 and builds on it, especially the building system is a real treat.
absolute recommendation, if you liked the first one, you're absolutely gonna love this one, simply from the gameplay persepective alone, building, surivival, horror, wonderfully done.

One of the best survival building systems out there, we've done several playthroughs and the game is still one of my favorites.
Yes updates take a long time, but they are hella good quality, mistlands is astonishingly good, the boss fight especially is absolutely awesome, definitely worth the long wait.
First Playthrough of the game is best done vanilla in my opinion, because i mean thats how its meant to be played, but since our second playthrough we used mods like equipment slots, dont lose armor and weapons on death etc.,
in essence making the game more relaxed to play, less grindy and not too hardcore, but keepin the difficult core gameplay.
Hella funny and hella replayable, love it, definitely worth the money

Played the beta, played at launch, tried it now a year later, but still ain't fun.
Yes they got rid of most of the bugs, but that doesnt change the fact that the gunplay is still unfun, movement is hella floaty, map design is just straight up trash and having half of your game beeing old recycled content from earlier games just doesn't justify putting any money into this game.
Been a bf fan for a long time, but after the series for me reaching it's peak with bf1 it basically only went downhill and this is the one that finally puts the series to rest

One of the best games i've ever played. Could have been the very best if it had been fully finished, but still, i played through it multiple times at this point and still see myself returning to it every now and then.
People seem to either love or hate the ending, but i definitely am on the side of loving it.
Great writing, great attention to detail and awesome gameplay.
