I'm da Jokah, baby

This game is gorgeous and has a really nice atmosphere when you're diving. The gathering of fish and cooking them up at the restaurant is a really fun game play loop, it's got some Pikmin feeling resource/time management systems.

But every character is really mean and I'm afraid of the ocean (especially whales), so I can't shake this bad vibe I get from the game while playing it. Everybody is mean, aggressive, and manipulative. I don't mind that when a few characters do it, it can be pretty funny! But EVERY character is just standoffish and takes advantage of the main character, and I can't help but feel bad when that happens. I really want to like it, but I think I'm dropping it. It makes me feel upset and uncomfortable to play. I understand these are pretty personal issues, but if anyone else has an aversion to these sorts of things, it might be best to pass this one. :(

That said, if you don't take issue with any of these grievances, I think there is a lot to love about this game. You can tell tons of time and passion went into making this game, and the end product shows it.
