It's like Civilization's one more turn except it's one more run. You still end up in the same spot in the morning having pulled an all nighter.

After several quality DLCs for AOE2 DE, this is far and away the worst showing. And this is coming from someone who loves playing AOE2 campaigns and has played every single one of them up until this DLC. This DLC has been an absolute chore to play.

The campaigns I have played so far from Victors and Vanquished all use giant maps, most without good reason. It's like they are trying to pad play time. For example in one of the missions, Charlemagne, you cannot advance to Imperial without finding 4 monks with relics. But the game does not mark where they are or give you hints at where they might be so good luck finding them on the giant map without already slugging through 80% of the mission in Castle Age. Also the AI does not do anything unique other than just spam units nonstop on hard difficulty. After you finish one of these missions, you expect some decent story telling that AOE2 campaigns are known for, right? Wrong. They are so short and lazy just like the rest of this DLC.

If you haven't already, get any of the other DLCs for AOE2 DE. This DLC should be the very last one to get and only if you're a completionist or it's on deep discount.

Voice acting is top-notch for the new campaigns; both for narrated slideshows and ingame dialogue. There is a good amount of variety between the missions as they are not all base building. I would always buy more campaign DLC if they continue to produce as high quality content as this.

Amazing first chapter. Telltale has brought the game back to its roots that hasn't been seen since Episode 1 and parts of 2. I can't wait for future episodes.

There will be a moment in the game where you look back to wonder how deep this game is and realize how much more you had to explore. For me that moment was listening to Priscilla singing in Novigrad. Just minutes ago I was killing drowners in a swamp and here I am in the center of a major city listening to a performance. This is truly an open world done right.

Fieldrunners should have just stuck with the mobile platform. Compared to other tower defense games, Fieldrunners lacks a lot of depth. However, the main reason I cannot recommend this game is because it is just a lousy and lazy port from their mobile version. This game will not support 99.9% of today's widescreen monitors. If you do have a large monitor, the game will look pixelated and blurry. The developers will not fix this so please avoid at all costs!
