This game is a loveletter to Scandinavian folklore.
It is bright and joyful, and it is grotesque and cruel.

The story is about Olle and Lillemor, two siblings living in medieval Sweden. It starts with a fairytale about Bramble the Mountain king. Their mother warns them that if they go out at night they will be taken by the bramble. So they go out, of course.
On their adventure they encounter creatures like gnomes, cloudberry people, trolls and even zombies.

The boss fights are very cool and unique, the soundtrack is amazing and the visuals are stunning.
The only negative I have to say is that the controls and camera angles felt janky at times, but nothing gamebreaking. Well worth a try, I havent enjoyed a game this much in a long time.

If this game was free, I'd still ask for a refund.

If Quentin Tarantino ever made a video game, it would be this game.
It's gory, surreal, and so very, very messed up... and I love it.

Downfall is a psychological horror game, and the gameplay mechanics are pretty simple. Everything you do, you do with the arrow keys. You find items, put them in your inventory, and use them to solve puzzles (which are pretty simple) However, the most important factor in this game is the story. And boy, what a story it is.

The game is very short, it will take you approximately 4-5 hours to finish - and that's if you're being thorough. Now, usually I would recommend picking up games of this length on a sale, this one however I think it's worth the full price. The replayability value in this game is insane. So many dialogue options and scenarios, and there are 3 possible endings. The good, the bad and the neutral. Though, the good isn't really all that happy either. Which I liked!

The good stuff
* Dialogue - the script for this game is amazing. It's worth playing just for Joe's mean lines alone.
* Artstyle - very unique and surreal. Hell, even the paintings in this game are great! Gloomy and dark with hints of color (red) throughout the game.
* Soundtrack - the maker of this game is very good at choosing the right music for each scenario. I love all the soundtracks, and I find myself listening to them outside of the game as well. Really helps creating the atmosphere.
* Replayability - I highly recommend taking your time to explore all the dialogue and all the outcomes. Will take you approximately 12-15 hours.
* Puzzles - not too easy, not too obvious either. Clever.
* Story - the story will mess with your head. It's weird, and I love it.
* Price - good price for an amazing game.
* Joe Davis - yep.

The not-so-good stuff
* Audio - sometimes the audio just sounds... off. Some of the voice actors have a really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mic, which sorta ruins the mood and dialogue sometimes. This was a problem The Cat Lady had as well.
* Sometimes the controls feels slow and not responsive. Also a problem The Cat Lady had.

I highly recommend playing this, especially if you're already a Cat Lady fan.

This game pretends to be a cute, quirky dating sim with birds but ends up giving you emotional trauma.
Honestly the best "dating sim" I ever played.
