Brought the Game as Alpha at first announcement. The premise and scope of the game interested me, as a fan of Squad and Tarkov. with the most recent patch, after coming back from a break in playing, i can see that i was justified in my early support.

It plays well, the patches have improved the stability immensely. The Day and night game play is distinct and challenging in different ways and while there is still a mountain of work to do to reach its full potential, it is a game I recommend for anyone, but is made better with a group of friends.

The detail is incredible, the game looks great whether you are 3rd person in Arcade mode or sitting in the cockpit, and the lighting, explosions and flames of the recent update are definitely picturesque.

If I had to describe this game in a word however, it would be "Inconsistent". Your shots will bounce off of paper thin armour. A periscope will stop a 76mm shell dead better that reactive armour. You will either have a great game with stories to tell, or a terrible game of utter bulls**t. There is no in-between.

But when the stars align and you get your favourite tank on a great map that you know how to play your way ...... this is one of the best free-to-play experiences out there.


EDIT: I thought i would add a few notes.

Firstly, Premiums are great for ranking up a tree that you enjoy. Only ever get them on sale, and after watching the reviews on Youtube (there are quite a few out there)

Secondly, take your time. I am not saying go slowly, just play in a way that means you are aware of what is going on arround you and don't get drawn into a kill, go round the side.

Thirdly, its a learning experience. I struggled killing the Tiger. so I ranked up my German tree and got the Tiger. after while, i know how i kept on dying and what killed me and then did that and boom, tigers are not an issue.

Finally, Play the game however you like. if you only like Lower Tier. then build a lineup that works and enjoy. There can be a lot of pressure to play the highest tier vehicles but this is fantasy. my favourite BR's are between 2.7 and 5.7 as there is such a diverse playerbase and vehicle type.

In my opinion the best Total War game. Factions are different and exciting, and the Coop campaign makes for some interesting alliances. For Total War fans, this doesn't disappoint. For new players, this is ideal and highly recommended.

While there are a growing number of games in this vain on Steam, this stands out for me because while it is hardcore and pushes for realism, it remembers that it is a game, not pure MilSim. after a couple of games, i know where i am going, what needs to happen and with the right team mates, we succeed.

It is also fun .... sometime. Other times your Tiger hits a fence post and blocks the road. Othertime your squad are mutes and run around like headless chickens.

but you will get a game. that one game where your squad is talking and working hard for the win. When the commander is calling out tanks to the team and directing artillery onto the point. when you nail a tiger tank with an AT gun as it tries to push the flag. and you realise just how great this experience is.

The WW2 Battlefield that DICE should have always aspired towards.

This game is so wide and varied that you can play the same race for every game and never have a similar experience. Highly recommend to any RTS gamer.

Brought it four times on three platforms, never regret playing this game. Recommend to anyone.

Large initial learning curve, but after 50 hours, you can start to actually enjoy the game.

Campaign is surpassed by the excellent multiplayer. 8/10

Brilliant Multiplayer with fast paced single player action.

Great game for fans of the series and new players alike =D
