As a player who became addicted to this game/mod way back in the ARMA 2 days, it actually hurts to write this.
DayZ standalone has been in a wierd place for a very long time; changing engines and developers over the course of its alpha development stage.
Dean 'Rocket' Hall did a fantastic job of creating the mod and setting the foundations in place for what was then a huge popular zombie survival game but in the early days of the standalones creations, "Rocket" stepped down as lead dev and moved onto other projects. This left DayZ in the hands of a completely new development team and whilst PR suggested that Rocket would oversee and assist on the sideline; the game is still unfinished and STILL in Alpha.

Honestly, this game NEEDS new content! Its been stuck in the same place for a while and even though the stability updates have done a world of good for the game overall; it feels as though without joining an RP server to create your own stories, the content and things to do run out very quickly.

TLDR: Highly addictive game with massive potential that is let down by its developers and has become stagnant and underapprecaited as a result.

This game should come with an addiction warning. Everything i could ask for from a city builder game.
