Terror.Violence.Madness.Bedlam. A holdiay gone mad. Dead island in a nutshell. This game never lacks in difficulty especially considering the mass amounts of zombies that can attack you at once. The zombies themselves however lack nothing in terms of appeal in both sounds and visual aspects. As a bonus each zombie is different from the other in terms of their model. Different types of zombies do exist however and they are easily distinguishible from the rest of the undead crowd and a sense of urgency as they alot alot tougher to deal with. Dying is a very common thing as without proper support you can find yourself quickly overrun as the zombies, death is thankfully not punished severly where you just respawn close to where you died, usually a safe distance away from zombies, with some cash mssing. The weapons available leave nothing to be desired however. It has that Dead Rising 2 feel with the weapons as you can create anything from a flaming nailed baseball bat to a shotgun that shoots electric pellots that explode. The playable characters are unique in their play style, not to mention, personality, bringing new possibilities to the table when presented with a horde. They do greatly help to create the atmosphere of chaos and despair that one would expect from a zombie outbreak. Even though this is an action RPG by definition it does keep that horror factor going with the mass amounts of zombies and random jump scares when you least expect them. If the sight of blood and gore doesn't bother you and you can deal with working together with your friends or random players then there is no reason not to buy this game. A solid $20 price tag 4.7 GB of pure gore and horror level violence can be yours. Like any RPG however the gameplay will feel slow paced so don't get discouraged.

A short survival horror game that can easily relate to the COD zombies franchise but if it were an indepepdent game. The focus on teamwork is not extremely highlighted though but more of a subtle reminder that you should help each other thus all helpful intentions have to come from the players themselves. The various weapons are nothing to special except a few exceptions but the weapons aren't specifically binded to one class as one would expec from a normal class based FPS. Overall I'd give it a B- for having an intense feel to it watching all your fellow team mates at the hands of a chaingun wielding maniac. Some mechanics of the game are a bit flawed however such as reload animations not playing, guns not wanting to reload at all, and some weapons not being able to be purchased even when all conditions are meet. Average visuals for its time but deliver the content nonetheless. The various specimen designs are unique in how they function and how they appear leaving the player with a satisfied feeling when they are brought down. The main drawback I've found is how downright difficult it is to host a server. Still that might just be me. For $20 however this game is worth it for its replayability and leveling system. If you're not a fan of repeitive gameplay then this is not for you.
