Did you enjoy The Room? Would you pay whatever price this currently is in order to play another game like it? Then get this.

Good, put it on your wishlist and buy it on sale.

The game is really good. Though, I feel like 20 dollar purchases should be reserved for those who are looking for another game like XCOM to play right away. 25% off or better makes it definitely worth it for everyone else though. If you are a fan of XCOM, and the grid centered turn based combat; you'll enjoy this. If you are a fan of the western genre, you'll enjoy it even more. The story is decent, the gameplay is actually great, and there is enough here to keep you entertained for a decent while. It doesn't have as much depth as XCOM or a 60 dollar AAA title, but even if you get it for the full 20 dollars, you will be pretty pleased.

Don't let the other reviews shy you away. If you meet the minimum spec requirements, and you know how to update your graphics cards drivers on a regular basis, and how to adjust settings, you're not going to experience any of the problems I've seen other people complain about. My processor doesn't technically meet minimum requirements, but I was able to get it to run very well.

As for the game... if you're like me, and you've been waiting to play it since you've finished the last red dead almost 10 years ago, you aren't going to be disappointed. This game has more detail than most RPGs made in the past. Westerns are a genre that was big with the boomer generation, and over and over again I see how much great potential they have to come back in the movies. There aren't many video games out there that try to go into the genre. Luckily, arguably one of the best games that exists today is a western; Red Dead Redemption 2.

Fulfill whatever western fantasy you have besides picking up ladies at the brothel (for character reasons it doesn't let you). Rob a train. Rob a store. Be a bounty hunter. Hunt a prize elk in the mountains. Play poker. Solve the hints left behind on treasure maps from old gangs. Do damn near anything. And you'll feel like you're in the west while you're doing it. Little details like the pump shotgun, click to shoot, click again to pump, click to shoot. Little details like your hair growing at a realistic-ish speed. Little details like what clothes your wearing making a difference in whether or not people will recognize you from committing a crime. All the little details that you will eventually notice drive you deeper into the immersion of the wild west.

I have not finished the story yet, but if it's going to continue like it is, then it's probably the best, or at least in the top 5 games of the decade.

Short recommendation:
- Buy when at full price: If you like and already spend money on puzzles and escape rooms in real life.
- Buy when on sale: If you aren't sure if you like puzzles, but you are willing to give it a go.
- Do not buy: If you hate puzzles and don't like to touch puzzles of any sort. (You're really missing out.)

If you If you are the type of person that likes to solve puzzles or escape rooms in real life, specifically puzzles like Hanayama or puzzle boxes or puzzle locks, then this is a great electronic version of that except... extremely extravagant. It took me almost three hours to complete this puzzle/game. I bought this game for 49 cents during the summer sale. If this were a puzzle in real life, and the only differences were that it was bound by what's physically possible (so no magic stuff, which honestly there isn't that much of that you couldn't probably replace with other stuff in real life. Like replacing the 'magic lens' with a blacklight. Or instead of lining up a symbol, you could replace it with a laser to line up) then this puzzle would cost thousands of dollars to purchase for yourself. I would guess 5 figures. But it's digital, so you get to have it for somewhere between 0 and 5 dollars! Which is great, considering I've spent 10-15 dollars on Hanayama puzzles that I didn't enjoy this much.

I got three hours of enjoyment out of 49 cents. Basically 17 cents for an hour of fun. Every single one of you would pay that all day, every day, no problem. Wouldn't even think twice about it. I can't recommend it enough for puzzle lovers, and if it's on a good sale, I recommend it for absolutely everybody unless you know you absolutely hate puzzles.

Now, I'm going to have to buy The Room 2 and 3 at some point if they are anywhere near as good as this was. Are you still reading? What are you waiting for? Buy this game!

What is there to say? This game is for just about everybody. Out of all the games I've played over my life, this is one of the most replayable games I've ever had. I've only ever gotten pure enjoyment out of this game. As far as building an individual character goes, you get two choices for skills each time you level that character up, and since there are around 8 skills there are quite a few combinations on how you can build a character. Not to mention the classes of characters. So when you're putting together a squad, you might have a ranger that you built for fast paced slashing, or one that's meant for action from a little further back. The possible combinations become nearly endless, and the decision you make on how to put together your squad for each mission matters. It will affect how you play the mission and how easy it is for you. As far as the missions and the characters go, I don't see how they could have made it much better. The actual storyline itself is pretty decent. That part is kind of repetitive, but it wasn't meant to be the star of the game. Regardless, it's still a fun part. Being on your ship, managing the different rooms, assigning research, and building new technology.

If and when there is an XCOM 3, my main hope is that they improve the research and technology, giving more options and outcomes, and more variance all around. Making the game outside of the missions even more interesting and fun.

Overall, this is an extremely solid game. One of my all time favorites, and one of the few that I can always go back and play again and again. Which, if I want to play a game and I can't decide what game to play, it's not uncommon for me to start playing this one again.

It's not absolutely perfect, but if this game doesn't get a 10, then no game ever will. If you haven't played XCOM 2, I don't know what you're waiting for. Buy it now. If it's on sale when you read this, you are getting an extremely good deal because it's worth the full price, even the DLC is worth it.

You won't regret getting this game, and if you get it while it's on sale you'll be extremely happy. This is one of my favorite games ever made, and probably my favorite indie game. It combines the survival aspect that we've been seeing games try to nail down ever since Rust came on the scene, with fantastic storytelling. And it's not like there is a set story either. The story is that there is different characters you might start out with, and different places you may be able to access. Then, there are different times where it will get extremely cold, or fighting will break out and you need to defend your home better, or you won't be able to access some of the places you scavenge for supplies at night because of fighting or it's snowed in. This might end up making things very difficult, and you might watch one of your most loved or important characters die of sickness in the cold. Only to make your other characters that were living together fall into depression, almost making them give up... and you're lucky if you can get them to snap back and finish the game.

I hear a rumor that a new major expansion for this game is being worked on right now. If true, I'm super stoked.

They did survival well, but in a very different way from games like Rust. They did story well, but in a very very different way from most other games with storylines. There is no "storyline", just a bunch of different events happen, and it will make up your story.

If any of that sounds appealing to you, you must buy this game. If you're unsure about it, PLEASE buy this game when it's on sale and give it a try. Right now it's 3.99 and that is an absolute steal if you end up liking this game.

The biggest pro is that every playthrough is always different no matter what, unless you do a custom game, set it up exactly the same, and make all the same choices.

The only con I can think of is that when you do another playthrough, it often doesn't change the way the game feels that much. It's the same game, you're just getting a little bit of a different challenge and facing different decisions.

First of all, I'll never buy another title from the developer Campo Santo. Not that I approve of Pewdiepie's language, but to jeopardize the entire gaming community by even threatening to file a DMCA against one person while allowing streaming and recording of it to everyone previously is absolutely horrible, and if it goes to court it could set one of the worst precedents gamers could ever experience in legal history if it goes in favor of the developer.

As for the "game". What you have here is a movie. A movie that feels like it's suspenseful, but nothing ever really happens. It's a walking in the woods simulator. I recommend getting a Netflix subscription instead of buying this game.

I don't have a problem with social justice warriors in general, I do have a problem with racism, but my biggest problem is with a developer who threatens the entire gaming community to quite possibly never be able to publicly play any video game ever; because he chooses that a large youtuber saying a racial slur while playing an entirely different game he has nothing to do with is where he wants to fight for social justice. With legal action. Filing DMCA claims against said youtuber, going to court, and winning, would mean the end of things like twitch. Who would ever stream a game if a developer can turn around at any time and sue you years later because of something you said elsewhere?

Disappointed with the game, pissed at Campo Santo.

VI is the best of this long long series so far. It seemed like a natural continuation of Civilization after Brave New World. Districts is a way better system than just the buildings you had in Civ V, and it's nice to have both Districts and Wonders take up actual tiles instead of just being in your city overview. Not only is it nice to look at what you've made, but it also makes you think a little harder about when, what, and WHERE to build. People have mentioned some problems with diplomacy, they have recently fixed it quite a bit, though it's still not perfect. I expect they will only improve it more. The only thing that doesn't feel right is culture. It seems like something is missing. The museums, great works, archaelogy sites, and all of that are way better than they were in Civ V. But something still feels missing about culture, and I think it's that you don't get some kind of extra perk upon getting a new "civic". "Civics" is actually what the new system is called. I think, and hope, that this will be something that is improved upon in future DLC.

By far, this is the best Civ yet!
