This game is a mess. Quite enjoying it so far though.

The real question isn't how come a multi-billion dollar company like Amazon couldn't make a better mmo. Rather it's puzzling that despite all its many, many flaws, New World is somehow still the best mmo that's come out recently, and is playable to the public right now.

A very good puzzle game. The puzzles were challenging, but fair. No unreasonable moon logic at all, which is quite a feat for a puzzle game. The story is intriguing and creepy and the aesthetic is a wonderfully executed dark fantasy. The Danish names give it a certain unique charm not often seen in games too.

I'm not sure, however, that I would have paid 2x full price for it (one copy for each player). My wife and I bought a copy each at 60% off, which seems like a reasonable price considering it took us just one evening to complete. (A little over 2 hours.)

Without spoiling too much, the ending was clever, but ultimately felt a bit anti-climactic. Not sure if there's a more satisfying secret ending. The game does seem like it could very well have a few Easter eggs, but we didn't find any on our playthrough.

I bought the game specifically to play co-op with friends, but there was some weird bug, or maybe "feature" depending on whom you ask, where it wasn't actually possible to play the main story alongside your friends without pace-killing hassle. Both you and your friend had to individually "find" the next monster in the story first and then drop back out of the mission to then re-enter it before being allowed to play against the monster together.

It completely ruined the fun we were otherwise having playing the game together.

If someone knows about this issue having been fixed, they're welcome to let me know, and maybe I'll give the game another go. Until then I consider the game close to unplayable for my purposes, although I'm sure it's fine if you just play it singleplayer. Can't recommend it for the co-op though.

This game isn't working. When I try to log in I get the error message "A system error has occurred. Please try again later. (Error 2024/1902)"

Googled the error, and apparently solution is to turn off your adblocker? Well, my Steam obviously doesn't have an adblocker, so I guess this game is just unplayably broken.

I really want to love this game, and some times I do, but it has a huge toxicity problem that frequently ruins any enjoyment it otherwise provides. The few options the game provides to deal with toxic people are ineffective to say the least.

Reporting someone doesn't seem to do anything at all. It's just a placebo button.
Muting someone works to an extent, but, of course, it limits team communication and by the time you use it the damage is probably already done.

Neither of these options prevents you from getting the same toxic player on your team again and again. The only way to avoid a toxic player is either to stop playing for a while after encountering them the first time in order to get out of their queue cycle or to disconnect from the game if you see them on your team and receieve a penalty for dodging the match.

The only way to show toxic players that their behaviour is not ok is to deliberately throw games if they start being abusive, but of course that makes you part of the problem. But the alternative is to carry these toxic people to victory, because after they go off, they sure as Hell aren't going to be of any help. Which means you're screwed either way. If you play seriously, you end up rewarding abusiveness with a free win, and if you don't, you ruin the game for everyone else including yourself.

I can't even count how many times people will immediately press the forfeit button as soon as opponent team scores even a single goal, blame their teammates for being "noobs," and then just drive around in circles or score self-goals for the rest of the match if you don't also forfeit.

It's a good game, but it's ruined by its horrible community and lack of options in dealing with the toxicity.

I have always loved turn-based strategy, but find that it's an increasingly neglected genre.

I have also recently started getting into e-sports type of games for their co-operative aspects as they let me play with my friends.

This game scratches both itches, is fast-paced, and addictive as all Hell.

Thoroughly recommended.
