Early Access Review
It is strange to me, I am absolutely hooked. The game play elements are there - Action, Adventure, Crafting... for those base builder types out there, Saleblazers has it. Structural integrity is a thing, there is a mild level of automation in the form of employees running your shops while your out looking for new goods to sell. If you can hit it you can sell it. The level of freedom when adventuring is definitely key when it comes to staying entertained. Are you a pacifist? then you can just steal all the goods from everyone. Night raids by the swamp people means you need to build defenses to protect your stuff.

Early Access Notes:
Current state of the AI is passable, however improvements need to be made. Some AI get stuck in a loop and randomly start attacking things such as your employees your structures etc. (Exit to menu reload save and its fixed) Congestion can really slow down your shop causes poor reviews from customers, The AI customers are extremely impatient (bunch of Karen's) its important to delegate tasks to your employees. Piece of advice- I recommend expanding your first shop slowly and make it bigger as you upgrade, going big too fast (especially without employees) is extremely challenging (restocking and having stock is key)

Some reviews talk about the campaign (you need to do things in order and not try to jump ahead) and lack of quest markers - I find that there is enough information to help you figure things out. Read the quest from the quest menu it contains the details that the tracker does not. The locations for quests are circled on the map. Its more scavenger hunt than traditional quest that tell you exactly where to go. Don't be a ****** because you need someone to hold your hand while you play. (No issues with current quest system in my opinion)

The world is massive (that's good) fast travel is your friend, Gliding in the sky and driving your cart are excellent modes of transportation. New animations are needed when shooting and aiming while gliding, The glider is attached to the hand so its in your face due to the animations.

Gunplay and melee combat feels a little weird at first, the character offset from the center crosshair/cursor took a minute to get used too, if the enemy is in your face the guns will miss you need to back up. target lock for melee would be nice (if it exists i haven't found it) Root motion animations means your character dances with melee which makes hitting enemies a bit more challenging. There is no rotation mid swing mean your need to wait for the animation to finish, and your character moves in his forward direction so you need to aim between the character and cursor.

Combat - (Overall it feels good to me but needs improvement) Weapons Galore!!!! Beating the snot out of swamp people with a painting that could cover the front of your store is priceless, Wrestle mania has nothing on the amount of chairs you can bash enemies with. Taking out the trash (enemies) with a metal trash can works too. Want to get Militaristic just grab a Mortar, an M4, take the AK for a walk..... Oh yes they have guns!....Katanas too!!

Base Building - (Very enjoyable) Setting zones for employees and shop areas with floor tiles is pretty nifty.

Shop Keeping - (Fun and engaging, Employees are a must to be efficient, restock, restock, restock)

Automation - ( Just enough to take the edge off of difficulty, customization, Priority tasking, crafting, collection )

AI - (Adjustments need to be made with decision making, pathing could be optimized (avoidance ) performant) Overall it works as it is,

Value - Is it worth 30 bucks? In my opinion as an early access in its current state yes it is ( I would not pay more than 30 at this time) There is a ton of stuff to do, explore, and with shops you can always find ways to improve it to make more money (replay ++) getting more stock to sell means going out or crafting more. Always something to do.

Multiplayer - I personally have not tried, ( no friends own it) it would be highly enjoyable with friends, you could turn up the difficulty and be way more efficient with your shops (yes you can build more shops across the island) As ive mentioned a rock solid supply of goods to sell will be the key to success ( kill enemy, steal it, make it, etc)

This review is coming from a Marine Infantry background in which training for urban warfare was a must.
If you still have that itch or desire for high speed adrenaline pumping combat that requires precision and flawless execution you have found it.

5hrs of playtime, not much, however in a game where success or failure is decided in minutes hours feel like days. A game that packs fun and thrills in such a little bit of time and you cant get enough deserves high marks and my review.

This is for big boys! extremely unforgiving AI, massive tactical simulation while set in a home environment. This gives SWAT a whole new attitude.

communication is a must, visibility matters, controlled shots are critical, target identification is absolute.

The AI is intelligent if anything indecisive and panicky, they shoot at shadows, set ambushes, and if all else fails shoot anyone else in the room......poor hostage would have lived if you were faster, more fluid, and worked as a team.

Unreal Engine - A+ Graphics, smooth game-play, this is what AAA strive to be.

Early Access - As with all early access titles there some things that could use a tweak, fix, or design change. However most notable are as follows.

AI - The Civilian AI need a mechanic that allows you to move them, occasionally you will find an AI that gets down on his knees right in front of a door and outside of putting one in the grape, you wont be getting past them.

Timed Missions - The ability to look at your characters watch to display a countdown timer for mission completion. This will keep immersion while granting the ability to keep active time.

Ill save the other thoughts for the feedback as they are minute nuances by comparison.

This is a must have for tactical buffs, FPS fans and if I were to describe it. Rainbowsix and Swat 4 had a baby and it ate a combat manual and crapped out a good time.

First of all, this is an early access game. Second, its barely day 2. To all the little children giving negative reviews based on your tiny tantrums go blow yourself.

The current state of the game is awesome. Unforeseen issues in an Early Access.... OMG! really no way!..... I thought so.

If your true to any Gaming Scene then i dont need to remind you about negative reviews.

Do not be blinded by the reviews that tell you the game is going pay-to-win/play.

--Sure you can buy new blocks to play with but thats just Cosmetic.
--Sure you can upgrade to a Pro Account Which by the way is one time, what do you get? Flashlight, Glider, 2 free Claims, extra server. 20 inv slots... Any real gamer can bypass this with time and experience.

From a developers standpoint this was a smart move. By allowing players to freely experience the games basic functions you offer freedom to choose whether or not its worth pitching in a few bucks for more.

Pay to Win/Play? just not seeing it.

About the Game,

With every early access your gonna find bugs, optimization, and freeloading douche bags posting negative reviews about a game that hasnt even finished its development.

Whats important is understanding what your getting. That is the games basic functions, meaning everything other than premium content. (optional)

Building:
There are multitudes of blocks to build with. Farm the resources upgrade your gear build new blocks.

Crafting:
The crafting system is tier based. Build one item to unlock another. And if you cant unlock the next tier you may not have one of the resources to build it. Find the resource and the item will unlock.

Crafting Blocks: Processor, Forge, Cooking Station. (assuming more will come)

Worlds:
Every world is a persistent and globally accessed world, (or private) once you create it you have the option of setting a few modifications such as difficulty, mob awareness, gravity...... You can always delete the world if you dont want it. Or, you can simply rename it change its description and then reset it.

Land Claim:
Many Many negative reviews harp on "Oh its pay to win or pay to claim" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you get 1 claim to start then you can harvest resources to claim another. You even have the option to support the developer by purchasing Coins which is a cash currency. Be warned tho, the resource cost of each claim changes the more claims you have.

World/Land Permissions:
You have to option to protect your world from douche bags by defaulting new players to Visitor Status. These players can then request (/Request) to have their status promoted (Visitor, Interact Only, Builder, Mod, Admin) The same concept applies to Claimed Land. The Land owner can change the player settings of every player on the server to have designated access to his or her land.

Premium Content: (if you call it that)
In any Free to Play game there will always be a way for the developer to give its players a way to support them. In this case you can: Upgrade to a Pro Account (one time buy) or you can purchase Coins, coins allow you the option of getting more blocks and if you wanted to, you could waste them on buy land claims. No real reason too, since you can harvest 20 coal and purchase the next land claim that way.

Overall Thoughts:
This game has come a long way from when i first played it.....(on my sons account) Creativerse is making steady progress and i trust the developers to follow their own plans for the game. Creativerse has a well developed Rock Solid foundation for the game to expand upon. I dont say this often but this game is easy to come back to when you get burnt out on other games. With more content coming and the games rapid development I highly recommend you give it a try.

theHunter - This review is designed to eliminate the stress of playing without knowledge of the game from first hand encounters.

Lets get this out of the way first.

Q: What is theHunter?
A: theHunter is not just a game its a Hunting Simulation. Yes a simulation.

W: If you want to run around and shoot whatever moves, this is not the game for you. If your looking for freebies and handouts, this is not the game for you. If you want free stuff then you need to earn it. If you are a kid, and momma wont buy you anything, then this is not the game for you. If your stingy and dont want to spend a few bucks Go back to wow and waste ur life. Lastly, Playing the game is free, and you can play as much as you like. If you want to play more than what you start with, then get a bundle package. (more details below)

Q: Does it cost anything to play?
A: No!

H: However, the developers have made the game available to you for free. This is NOT a free trial. It is the complete game. You can hunt 2 species right from the start as long as you want forever. Their business model is genius, if you like what you see and want more you can pay them for it.

Q: What does it cost if i want more?
A: Well it depends. The bundle deals are probably a steal on our part, Their pricing is ultra low. Avgs 3-4 Dollars per month for unlimited access to the game(KILL ANYTHING). Memberships are based on 3-6-12 month packages. Their bundles are the same however the perks to a bundle are priceless when compared to manually purchasing them in the shop.

O: Okay now, the important things to discuss. If you read any negative reviews (several) your more than likely to find "its a ripoff" "its not free" "Devs suck". Well truth be told, Your all a bunch of idiots. This isnt just a game, it is a simulation. "Simulation" as close to reality as you can get being virtual. The game aspects are what create more playable attractions. EX: Competitions, Tracking, Spotting Levels. Leaderboards, Animal Scoring System. Personal achievments. etc.

If you want to know what the game is like then i will give you the best review i possibly can honestly and in detail. Honestly speaking im very dissapointed in the reviews that dont justify their responses. It royally pisses me off.

MY REVIEW

Hunting in its natural form requires patience, and understanding the behavioral patterns of your prey and overall, the ability to learn from your mistakes.

From the start (Guest non-Member)
As a Guest or non-member you can create single player games and Hunt Loggers Point reserve. Here you will find Mule Deer, Whitetail, Rabbit, Ferral Hog, Pheasant. Guests are authorized to hunt Rabbit and Mule Deer by default. You can continuously hunt them to your hearts content. (One blunder the Devs did was make default rifle non compliant with Rabbit Hunting, whether this was intended or not should be fixed, its a turn off and negative review maker)

When you create your game prior to starting you can choose where you want to start on the map, After doing so the game loads etc.

1. Right from the start its very important to realize that the game feels slow and characters are slow. NO ♥♥♥♥! This is a hunting game, not call of freakin Duty. Slow and Quiet is the game, and probly the most widely contributed negative review aspect. "There is no animals to shoot, i run around for hours and cant find anything what a waste" If you have seen a review like this then read the following.

2. The AI in the game are astonishing, they simulate an emense amount of realism in the animals. "Slow and Quiet" When you stand up and walk around your a beacon to the world of animals. So crouch and move slow. The animals get spooked by 3 Factores. Movement, Sound, and Smell. By default your character is Ugly, Smells, and loud as .....

3. The game takes time to understand, you need to put in the time to learn terrain the animals, and their patterns. When you start a new game and you go back to the spot you killed that monster buck, chances are they wont be there anymore. The AI is smart, the animals in the game actually avoid overly hunted areas. Pathfinding actually changes for the animals. If the Devs did this on purpose, then kudos, If not your some lucky mofo's.

4. I had to put in some long hours to actually figure how to find the animals. It sucked, and i hated it I was one of those Rage Quitters. Then a friend of mine took me on an actual hunt. As a guest you can join multiplayer games and hunt every map/reservere. Just be mindful of the liscenses you carry. Anyway, what i learned in that single hour of hunting With my friend, forever changed my opinion of this game.

5. When you play for the first time, expect to get frustrated if you dont actually have real life hunting habits. You will be inclined to run everywhere DONT! You will spook animals and never see them. Try to find a game with a host that has a high hunter score. Ask them to show you, or take you on a hunt. Once you learn the tricks, the game becomes exciting and fun.

6. This is very important. You have been hunting mule deer for hours, now your bored. You want to kill something else. But you dont want to pay for a subscription....You can earn em$ (cash currency) by doing surveys and tasks etc from theHunter website. With em$ you can buy other liscenses in the form of 1-7-28 days. Guess what now you dont have to spend your money. You can also purchase Gear, Weapons, etc.

This game is intimidating, I usually open my games to Guests and help them out. I fully understand why people do negative reviews.

Guys/Girls This game is amazing in the aspect of what it was meant for.

If you have patience
A little bit of time to spend
And willing to spend a few bucks

You will not be dissapointed.

I recommend this to any hunter enthusiast.

I played this game back in Alpha and Beta. To be completely honest i did not find it entertaining fully understanding that it was still being developed. After a few months of some patches and fixes i got back into it, to see how things were. It had got a little bit better. I found myself with nothing to do, this was in early 2014. So I waited practically a year now and decided to give it a whirl again. I knew there had been many major updates and over hauls.

From then till now.

Then. I couldnt play it. Idea was great the game played great, but lacked content and drive.

Now. I cant stop playing. in the last two weeks just launching from steam i put in 80 hours and loving it. Thats is not including the non steam hours i put into it.

Take backs.

Too many complaints about the crafting and resource system made them simplify things. Major Bummer in my opinion. The old crafting system was Very Complex and had a strong learning curve. That particular feature was great.

Too many babies that didnt want to put in the effort made them simplify it. 8 year olds can craft now.

In the beginning there were loads of kids playing. Im talking whiney, moany, suckin on the teets babies. The Matureaty level for the players was UGH. Not even joking. Hated it.

But ill tell you what. Since all the changes Us older folk have been able to appreciate the progress that this game has gone through. It is very playable and entertaiing now.

All i can simply say is try it. Its free to play, and if you dont like it you dont have to play it. put in about 20 hours or so get a feel for it. Then make ur decision.

First Impression after a few hours. Key note: I saw Open Beta! ( With that i keep beta at the front of my mind) The key to a successful review is honesty not sarcasm or insult. I will provide information based on what i know and how i intereret the game.

I am an enthusiast when it comes to games. Normally i do 3 part reviews. (First few hours, 50-100 hours, End Game)

First Impressions.

-Cash Shop,

The first thoughts that came to mind is this going to be a pay to win? I was completely blown away with that thought when obtaining premium items could be accomplished without spending a dime.

Premium is more of an Aid to the game then a bonus. It allows characters to progress more smoothly. I noticed no real advantage to in game transactions or premium over standard methods of game play. In a nutshell Not a pay to win, Its just a pay to get ahead framework.

-Questing

I have mixed feelings about questing. Every MMO ive played follows the same routine. Being a Noob sucks. When you start your questing you will find yourself doing a lot of running. Fortuneatly in the beginning its very cut and dry, do this get my reward.

Leveling is decent. ( Its a matter of opinion,) I dont want to play a game where i can max Cap in less than a few hours of dedicated play. The feeling of being rewarded for hard work and effort outways the purchase of my max level character. Anyway so far in the beginning leveling is pretty steady. Thumbs up to that.

-Character

I will agree with a majority of other reviewers. The characters are super smooth when it comes to game play. They handle well, Development is unique, Classes are Fun. And especially with that Old School feel to it, the characters are great.

At this point its really to early to critique the characters. I am not far enough to really grasp their potential.

Additional Notes.

If you like the classic feeling of this. Example Titan Quest, Farewell to Dragons. Then you will enjoy this game.

So now to press onward and ill update the review.

very time consuming, very complex and challenging if your willing to put your mind to it. Simple interface makes the gameplay much more soothing to the not so strategic minds.

The game can be very easy if your looking for the short game. Food Shelter etc. But if you want to "dig deep" into the game you will need to apply a little more thought. The Sieges can be extremely hazardous to your citizens. If not properly equiped with weapons and armor your town will soon become a ghost town. ( no pun intended)

Overall this game is a must have for simulation strategists.

The closest thing to fallout as an MMO. Highly reccommend if your looking for an Apocolyptic Survival MMO.
