You can just feel the love put into this game, it's a really heartwarming and sincere experience.

First and foremost, this game is a Visual Novel, not an SRPG.
Second, as a longtime Digimon fan I can safely say that unless you're a fan of the franchise, you won't be getting a lot of enjoyment out of this game.
Third, temper your expectations.
This game went through development hell but don't let the delays trick you into thinking the game is a massive, ambitious project where every choice you make affects the story in a meaningful way. For the most part, they don't. The only choice you have is the route you end up on, and even then the game lets you know how to make the right decisions to end up on those routes, so the feeling of being unsure of your decisions and not knowing what effect they'll have is never there. That being said, there are very little surprises in the story, especially for someone familiar with Digimon. Despite all that, I can't truly say that I did not enjoy this game for what it is. It's a nice little treat for Digimon fans even if it isn't up there with some of the best that this franchise has to offer.
