It's an enjoyable game but definetly not too good.

It has hints of metroidvania despite being more like a classic castlevania adapted to modern gameplay, which is totally fine, but it doesn't commit to become a full metroidvania and it hinders the experience. There clearly are places to backtrack to, but the process to do so is too tedious and the skills a burden to use. Add a barely functioning compass, too many one way doors, having to do the ENTIRE level from the beggining for most secrets and a map you only see at the beggining of a stage and you get a terrible and boring exploration.

Most of the skills you get are quite unusable, specially the ones that let you get to other places. The paper platform rarely sees any real use, and the freeze penguin requires you to already know the position of enemies to properly use it.

And this ties into combat. The combat is simply bad. Shinobu is an afterthought in this game made to save Maya when you mess up, since the game clearly didn't take her into account when designing levels and enemies. Either enemies become too tedious to fight or are a joke that you slowly and boringly turn to dust from a distance.

The 4th boss made me stop (and it's also the one you get the most prominent movement utility from). The platforms you need to get up to punish you for using your tools to more effectively defeat the boss, since most of them will hit them and lower them making the boss unreachable and most of its attacks able to hit you. Also, it's not funny to have to start over and over again while you have a student being sexually assaulted in the background, because tentacle is funny or something.

And about starting over and over again, I played in the classic mode, with lives. May I say that this "difficulty" adds nothing? For bosses you can go in, mess up and die with one of the two (most of the time Maya, let's be real) and then come back with the other one and revive her quickly to just infinitely loop the boss room. I only had to use 1 extra life because I fell on a pit twice, and in all that time I only managed to get one extra life through collectibles despite killing all enemies I passed by and breaking special decorations. The special attack bar charges quite fast so, if this is the case, what's the use for these collectibles on the lifeless difficulty?

The art and animations are great though. I loved both the artstyle and how fluid everything felt. It's what caught my eye the most when watching how this game played.

And, for the love of god, add sound options and let me turn down the voices or make them less common. I was going crazy hearing them moan on every jump.

Game is pretty mediocre.
IMPORTANT: DENUVO ADDED AFTER THE RELEASE. IT TANKS SIGNIFICATIVELY THE PERFORMANCE. PLAYING ON ALL MINIMUM AND ULTRAPERFORMANCE DLSS ON A 3060 AND A RYZEN 7 5600 GAVE AROUND 60 TO 80 FPS ONLY. Also, playing with mouse is a miserable experience, I'm pretty sure this game gets better with a controller.

It's playable but it feels like the studio only covered a list of checks and didn't take any effort whatsoever to make it cohesive.

The gameplay is terribly planned. Enemies are bullet sponges and some of the un-common ones will literally make you waste all your ammunition and won't even be finished yet. Ironically, most bosses are way easier than that because they don't stop spawning items so you can recharge your energy.
There's no reason whatsoever to use something other than wind for 95% of the game. Fire is good for close groups of enemies but at the same time it's too scarce to be useful. Also, since you kill enemies you've knocked after 1 or 2 hits, killing enemies when you wanted to get their cores to spawn more energy because you were trying to knock other enemies is bound to happen which also makes fire kind of a bad option. Water is also supposed to cover groups of enemies but..... fire does that? I don't know, mate. Nothing matches with nothing, there's no cohesion whatsoever.

There's also this thing about the game giving you upgrades to hit faster but I've noticed that hitting non-boss enemies faster is a waste of ammo since hitting more won't mean knocking them down earlier. They won't be able to go into their next "hitstun" animation until the current one is fairly done so it's better to space out the attacks and go for a knocked down purification.

Overall, nothing synergizes with nothing. There's also the talises that are expensive because they trivialize everything else and if you could get them for cheaper, you wouldn't even use the main energy options.

The enemy AI is terrible on the control points events. Just wait until the enemies are attacking the point, go behind them and exorcise them. They won't even notice you 90% of the times even if you walk in front of them and depending on how much they want to attack the point you can even hit them without being noticed, it's stupid.

The skill tree is boring. You don't need to upgrade most stuff except for the ones that let you carry more arrows, more food and make the errand-taker time consuming actions faster (equipping bead chains, charging attacks, rescuing spirits, purifying cores faster and/or in the ground/from behind). Most of the other stuff is pretty much close to useless because it either makes you eat through your ammo quicker without any upsides or you just won't feel the difference.

The story isn't that good either. They don't really try to tell you anything, it feels void and just like filling. There's also all this thing about not being able to cross the fog but suddenly after they give you the mission to purify over 10 torii gates because they needed to fill time KK tells you there's actually a way to cross it lol. I did some side missions but they didn't tell me much either. I would still recommend to do at least the first one of each one of the youkai. They're not great, in fact most of them are just more annoying errands, but I love youkai and they're pretty well done here.

The exploration is just running all over the place, most of the time being kinda lost because the game is very bad at telling you where to go. It gets kinda good since the ambientation is pretty good and all, but it's just a boring empty open world with some collectibles here and there (that btw you don't need to look for since they will be marked in the map when you pass by them and are usually in places you will visit).

However, as much as it's terrible gameplay-wise, the representation of Shibuya is one of the best I've ever had the chance to see. From the ambientation to the stores, the music, everything is done with lots of care and attention to detail. You really feel like you're there, except for the total lack of people. If there was a mode that let you just freely move around without enemies it'd be amazing.
The horror elements are also great. You can feel that special creepiness that only japanese horror gets to show.

Overall, this should've been a horror game, not an action game.

CBT with Yuuka Kazami is an extraordinary game that dwelves into the human mind.
Within it lays a deep understanding of psychology and critical thinking that bestows with helpful adices and life lessons.
This being said, the only flaw I had found was the lack of happy day.
Nevertheless, CBT with Yuuka Kazami is a game that will help you learn many lessons useful on your daily life that will come in handy once you need its help.
Patchouli is adorable and all she says is 100% true.

A beautiful story that unfolds slowly, but at the correct pacing to get you hooked.
Able to be played in less than 8 hours, so it's worth playing it in one go if you have the time for it.
There are a lot of systems to ensure you don't forget what happened the last time you played.
Overall, a hidden piece of art, born from sheer love to this world.

Hacknet is an unique experience not safe for those faint from the heart.
After completing the base game and the DLC I can safely assume this is a small unheard masterpiece.
A friend got me the game, and today I bought and finished the DLC.
The UI is pretty simple. but you can get lost if you don't put your attention on what you are doing.
The puzzles are amazing to solve. It makes you feel smart with all the moves you do.
I would love to keep forever playing this game, because it's an amazing masterpiece.

But! You will need to type fast at some points of the game, so you'd better had studied mecanography!
Good luck, and happy hack.

Early Access Review
Thanks to this game I don't feel alone anymore when I'm playing and I'm less lonely.
The dialogues are super funny, the interactions are beautiful, and even though there is a bit of engrish (that I hope will be fixed on the future), all the game is really enjoyable.
Everything I can do in the game, from cooking to exploring the forest, is super fun to do.
Koishi's voice is really great, and catches her random personality imo. From the "Holding hands is restricted to couples" to "Oh... I almost cut your hand off...", everything sounds in-char.
I just hope the game gets many new features in the future!

Well... There's a lot of wasted potential here. The events of the game take place after a great war, which leaded the world to become dry and the population decreased drastically. But those events just appear in one or two sentences. The story could've been more deep and interesting. Despite, the character desing is great, with a lot of bright, pastel colors. Also, the voice acting is great. But the most important thing about this is the possibility to have texts in both English and Japanese at the same time. It's a great help for those who are learning Japanese!

With this said... I don't really recommend the game if you came atractted by it's description. Instead, if you search for cute character designs, you'll love this game.

I'll give a negative review because the plot was great, but wasted.

Disfruten
