I make one simple bet in crypto: a decentralised coin programmed to become increasingly scarce as time goes by will steadily grow in value. If I’m wrong and it turns out to be only about gambling or buying supermarket points of the loudest vendors, I’ll happily move on altogether.

I think this is an especially pertinent bet right now given the situation of the dollar, persistent deficits, rising debt, inflation and inevitable monetary debasement. That fact, combined with an economy that will be 1/3 digital by 2030 makes it an easy bet to make.

Why Cardano and not just Bitcoin? In my view, through Bitcoin Core dynamics and mining pools there’s some centralisation baked in, while Cardano with its lightweight hardware reqs, 1000+ pools, governance has achieved a more perfect form of decentralisation already.

Moreover, governance and the treasury make the protocol more long term sustainable. The emergence of a true digital economy (not only DeFi! You need more than financial services) around it builds in a natural source of demand that will help intrinsically drive price for the coin.

Finally, as I have alluded to before, with topics like the rise of AI, financial surveillance, data harvesting etc it’s clear we need a people run decentralised alternative to the big tech run digital economy and digital services. A perfect confluence of needs and features.
