Just wish they'd allow multiplayer with bots. I don't have 2 other friends 😔

Got the game as part of a humble bundle. I forgot about it completely until I played theHunter: Call of the Wild and thought to myself "Hmm, I wish there was more to this amazing engine and landscape than just animals, like looting and actually fearing for my life. Well once I dug around I realized this game is made by roughly the same folks with the same engine and figured I'd give it a try.

I was amazed when I first started as it was just what I was looking for (looting stuff, gun mechanics, awesome visuals) until I noticed the robots do not care for doors. Nope. They won't enter buildings at all. Their pathing is completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ once they're inside a structure. It was then I knew my life was no longer in danger. I could get detected by a robot then run inside a building and BAM, safe.
One of the larger robots couldn't even shoot out walls or anything remotely realistic when versing a lowly homosapien inside a stick and sheetrock shack. Total disappointment.

Once I found this out and the lack of animals or really any unique flora or fauna that I decided this game needs quite a bit to even come close to touching the gripping fear I experienced in DayZ. It's a shame since I like the engine and tightness of the gun mechanics but they could do so much morewith it than a few dopey robots lumbering around the countryside every 100 meters.

My wishlist would include:
Some form of other enemy beside Johnny #5's
Some sort of wildlife, hell this is what the engine was made for (not all of them were killed off by the robots, c'mon)
Larger robots able to shoot or even better break through walls of buildings that aren't fortified
MUCH better pathing in interiors. It's laughable how easy these things are when they're confused by a door or archway
Hunger and thirst which is kind of the quintessential in a survival game
Better and more interesting loot (I'm so sick of finding my 45th hat in a box)
Voice-acting needs a total rehaul. Did you guys hire the people from the original Resident Evil game?

I will update once I find more things out, but so far this just seems like such a horrible wasted opportunity to put a great engine like this into a grand survival game fit for the 21st century.

Coop quest progress isn't saved for clients, only the host. Why would anyone play coop when it doesn't count for their quests? Stupid.

I really wish I could recommend this game. I've played each one when they came out on the Playstation and would love to enjoy them again but when there are annoying bugs left to fester and absolutely no word from the developers on the discussion forums.
I'm annoyed and disappointed they have effectively abandoned this game after release. Workarounds galore have been posted for various levels on each game in the trilogy and capping FPS to 30 is the common theme. I hear many are crashing; not being able to play the game at all and yet complete silence by the devs. I would stay away for now. Maybe one day the developers will actually patch the game to a more playable state on PC, but until then it's an unfortunately thumbs down from me.

No co-op, was advertised when game first released on steam and was suckered into it. Just a terrible cheap cash grab by Capcom, thankfully they've improved since this dark time of 2013.

Fantastic atmospheric game. I can't remember the last time I was scared to venture out in a game or created a bunch of excuses as to not progress for fear of death. Best early-access-to-release game I've ever purchased. Wish other games in my library progressed as well as this has through it's development.

Early Access Review
Far better than any EA release. And by EA I mean Electronic Arts.

Do not buy. Publishers screwed over the developer.

Buy MudRunners instead.
Same developer and no idiotic publisher.
They should remove this game from Steam.

Going to return to my review and give it a thumbs up. Two years later and the Dev's are still supporting the game which is a rare thing in today's world. I can't wait to see what else they add. The multiplayer is nice and the new reconfigured resources are a much needed change. Only wish sprinting didn't use so much life support. Recommended (now).

A fantastic battle of something other than wits... Pure button smashing and well-timed parry’s is what this game is all about. From its horribly voice-acted old English taunts, to its Unreal Engine beautiful beheadings, this game will make you want to go back to medieval times with an inkling for siege weaponry.
