I really like this game. It has a lot of flaws and it is clear that they bit off maybe a bit more than they can chew and experimented a lot. The game can be slow and boring at times, but I really hope it succeeds enough to get a refined sequel that polishes the rough glimmering stone they have created.

First off the combat is kinda weird however since I see this is an elderscrolls like game I 1000% prefer this to TES combat. Magic is very unique although you can feel like you memed yourself if you invest too much into it and then stack mana cost down gear latter on. I like the risks and changes they made to combat even if it is a bit clunky and imbalanced.

There are dungeons and such around the world but with the amount of walking you do you see the same few mobs roaming around the world far too often. It often feels like the game is a walking sim with perishable goods so you just waste time. You really don't need to have all the best food buffs and whatever, but it can still feel like a chore to go between towns. This is probably my biggest complaint. There isn't enough interesting stuff happening to make running back and forth compelling gameplay.

I liked the story and end game lore/bosses. I still need to do one more playthrough to finish the final story, but overall I like it. The biggest issue is that there are some hidden timers that come with huge permanent consequences, I don't really like that at all but whatever.

Overall I think Outward is a game with many flaws. However, it tries to do something new and experiment and I am really looking forward to seeing any future refined sequels or spiritual successors.

I played this game a while back and really liked it. I thought combat was fun, and the setting was really unique. I'm really hoping for a sequel or spiritual successor as I normally prefer coop games but I found this one to be quite charming.
