Current league's a waste of time :)

Love this game. Pick it up on sale if you can't afford the base price.

One of the best RPGs I've played to this day. The devs are quite generous too, as all DLC that are not story-based are free.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate is definitely a step up from the disaster that was Unity.

Performance and Graphical Quality:

• While the graphics are very good, they were definitely not Ubisoft's focus this year, as this game runs great. However, that doesn't mean Unity looked visually appealing.
  
• So far, I have not had any freezes and only a single crash.
  
• As mentioned above, my framerate doesn't dip too far down to cause any problems and that is a start for Ubisoft.

Artificial Intelligence

• The people on the streets are fairly lifelike and the game renders quite a lot of them. However, it's weird that they don't really care about you killing anyone but the moment you loot their corpse they scream bloody murder because you're a "thief".
  
• The enemies are not idiots in combat and try to get the jump on you. That includes them suddenly attacking and barely giving you a window to counter.

Combat

• As mentioned earlier, the enemies are actually quite capable of beating you to death, meaning that you need to pay absolute attention to what they do.
  
• The new combo system awards XP based on how high your combo goes. If you get the skill required to do so, you can almost instantly kill a single enemy if you reach a high enough combo.
  
• There is a lack of weapon variety, though.
  
• You can hire Rooks (gang members) to help you fight, similarly to previous games. Unlike them, however, the Rooks are actually useful.

New Mechanics

• Experience is awarded based on what you do and it is a much better system than Unity's credit system.
  
• The grappling hook is fairly well implemented and is really only used if you want to climb large buildings quickly.

Menus and GUI

• The main menu is not cluttered with options and is visually appealing.
  
• The options menu is fairly well done and it shows you how much vRam you use per option.
  
• The ingame HUD is not cluttered either and it doesn't spam you with notifications.

Story

• So far the story can be boiled down to what most of the games already did. Liberating a city, or a country.
  
• However, the characters have great voice acting and are actually pretty lifelike.
  
• The two main characters, Evie and Jacob are like two magnets of the same kind. Polar opposites. But at the same time, they are pretty similar and quirky. Evie is the strategic one and Jacob is the brash one.
  
• I have not made much progress to the modern day, but it features the same chick that talks to you in Unity, so don't get your hopes up for Desmond's revival.

Sounds

• The soundtrack is fantastic and it fits the theme of the game.
  
• The sound quality is great and it does not sound like it was recorded in a bathroom.

Misc.

• The game features microtransactions. Stop it.
  
• Thankfully Ubi didn't make a billion special editions like they did with Watch_Dogs, nor did they advertise super-duper-amazing pants as a preorder bonus.

EDIT #2: So Almir has confirmed that they ARE rolling back the microtransactions. Whoop! Regardless, you should wait a while before buying this game in case they ♥♥♥♥ up again.

One of the best games I've ever played. Ruined. The developers promised us that we'd get free content during Crimefest for our insane grinding through their challenges and for what? Microtransactions? No. ♥♥♥♥ that. The developers haven't even communicated with us since the update.

Vote with your wallet. Don't buy this game.

So far, so good!

Positives:
-No frame drops (Average of 110-120fps)
-Proud Souls are much easier to obtain
-3 new characters
-New cutscenes
-Actual costumes

Negatives:
-No manual saving, meaning that the game autosaves into a single slot
-Grim Grip is still a bit wonky in Mission 3
-No new battle themes
-No new missions (The new characters just replay the old missions without any cutscenes).

If you're a fan of DMC, you should definitely buy this game!

Somehow, the standalone has less content than the mod, after a year and a half of development.

As a long-time fan of Assassin's Creed, I found this one really boring. I haven't even brought myself to finish it yet.
This was the last Ubisoft game I'll ever preorder, at least until they fix their ♥♥♥♥.

One of my all-time favorite games. It features interesting characters and plot, awesome co-op and guns.
Lots of guns.
