Now you gotta connect your Steam account to a PlayStation Network (PSN) account to play. This stinks for a few reasons. First, not everyone has a PSN account, and some folks just don't want one (like me). Second, let's just say Sony's history with PSN security isn't exactly stellar. Finally, some countries where you can buy Helldivers 2 on Steam don't even have PSN!

Helldivers 2 is still a fantastic game with awesome gameplay. But this new account linking is a real pain. If you're cool with making a PSN account and the security stuff doesn't bother you, then be my guest. But for me (and likely others), this is honestly a big flaw. They showed you didn't need one to be able to play. So the only reason they are changing it now is probably to boost their stats for their next shareholder meeting or whatever these corporations care about, certainly not the players.
