PLEASE do something about the bots.

This game is Animal Crossing with guns.
And Fallout worldbuilding.
And it's amazing.

When I first started playing The Finals, I was expecting another derivative AAA-style arena shooter that would stay aloft with a couple of gimmicks.

But what I found was a unique and imaginative take on the shooter genre that:

- is accomodating to a wide range of playstyles (you can pick up any combination of class, gadget, specialization, and weapon and make it work if you like it, it's all very viable)
- has fun moment-to-moment gameplay. One minute you're flying through a window with your grappling hook to chase down someone and the next you're on the top floor of a collapsing building because a Heavy class decided she didn't like its walls.
- is superbly balanced for team play. When something feels unfun, Embark listens and addresses it immediately.
- has an imaginative aesthetic and TONS of interesting cosmetics, so many of which are free
- is lenient on its monetization, the battle pass pays for itself and then some, is easy to complete as there are so many XP-giving challenges. This is especially true late into the season, as all the weeklies are available season-long.

A beautiful open-world 2D platformer RPG with a compelling story. Every single line of dialogue is fantastically voice acted and the animation for the characters is smooth and phenomenal. Though the story is a bit cliche for a bit, it picks up eventually in full force. Dust is for everyone.
