I started playing this with my boyfriend as a joke. He got fed up very quickly (he's not the type for dating sims anyway) but I decided to give the game another choice.
Boy am I glad I did.
I'd read that there was a "special" ending you could play once you'd done all the normal character endings, so I sped through those and prepared to face the what I thought "true" ending which I expected to be either a romance with a new character or an extended romance with one of the birds I had actually come to like in my previous playthroughs.
What I got was several hours of breathtaking suspense-filled mystery with so many plot twists that my head spun at the end. I was speechless and kind of still am. All I can say is that this is the best crime/sci-fi/bird/thriller visual novel that disguised itself as a pigeon dating sim that I've ever played.
10/10 the "overwhelmingly positive" is very much justified.
