The game works fine and runs well for me, but that is clearly outside of the norm, even for some with hardware on par with or higher quality than mine. This is not acceptable.

Beyond the performance, might as well complain about something else(that's not nearly as important as performance, but an issue nonetheless). You spend a large part of the early game listening to people yap in forced walking sections instead of actually hunting.

Once you hunt it's fun, and the game can be really pretty, but it's frontloaded with so much talking.

This hurts. I love this game. I wanted nothing more than Gearbox to surprise everyone and do a fantastic job.

If someone says they haven't noticed many bugs, they're likely not noticing them. Which isn't a knock against them; some of these bugs are hard to identify if they haven't played a long time. But the game is fundamentally broken. The FPS being tied to everything means that literally every aspect of the game is altered(often negatively) by your FPS. The stage director(the system that determines chest and enemy spawns) has been split wide open. Enemy AI has been downgraded significantly. There is a white item that makes the games standard final boss literally unkillable with a 100% replication rate. I could go on.
Even beyond the bugs, the content in the DLC is not great in terms of game design. Many of the items added don't feel good to play with, and dilute the pivotal item balance present and make it much harder to get mobility/crit/healing and instead giving you three of the worst items in the entire game. The whites are mostly bad, and the greens aren't much better(except doll and sale star). And that's assuming these items work. The new elite types are horrific(especially twisted- you will literally die to a proc chain through no fault of your own), Seeker and the Secret Survivor do not feel good to play, the new final boss is overall poorly designed with a laser attack so brutally unfair it is the single most lethal thing in the entire game(except maybe the twisted enemies).

The stages and skins are outstanding, as is the music, but it's not enough to offset the mess that is this DLC, from both a stability standpoint and a game design one. It's clear that this DLC either had serious development issues, was pushed out by suits, and/or there is a large failure to understand the game they are designing for.

Also, most of the new item names are terrible. I know that's the least of this DLCs problems, but I wanted to mention it.

Taopunk Hollow Knight that may even surpass Hollow Knight was not on my bingo card this year, but I'm so happy it exists.

Players who bought this game may be unable to purchase it after playing it for months because Sony decided to add a second avenue for data breaches that has no benefit to players. If you can't make a PSN account in your country(and there's a lot who can't), they are not allowed to play anymore. Also, adding this three months after release and after all the hype is certainly a low move.
Don't buy this game. It's not "one of the good ones", that is mostly from corporate meddling. Go buy Deep Rock Galatic instead for a good game like this one with very little corporate meddling.
Switching review to positive because it is a good game(though it has it's issues with balancing, and the warbond system is not as player friendly as many would argue) and Sony walked back their decision, though the above will remain to remind people that companies will always try to walk over you for profit.

We dive together, or not at all.

New characters are pretty cool. Owl is quite complex and definitely makes you think about the game a different way, since now picking up every single scroll that doesn't harm you may not be the best idea. New weapons are cool, though it's hard to say how viable any of them are yet. I suck with the brick :(

Only major downside is that the questionable gunfire translation can make parts of the owl difficult to understand.

Simply wonderful artstyle, and a very good story that is always keeping you engaged. It was so much more gripping than I thought it would be- I beat it in one sitting. Highly recommend.

It's so painfully slow, and the puzzles are mostly just there to waste your time. The story is fine and the soundtrack is great(I ended up watching the game), but the gameplay is bad.

Serious GoTY candidate. It's an amazing game. It's not terribly wrong, but it's funny, satisfying to play, and so pretty.

Game is story, story and theme are amazing. Gameplay is alright. It's a short adventure- can be finished in about eight hours. It's a memorable time.
