Do you want a non rogue-like dungeon crawler that expects you to replay it twice? (since you can't unlock the higher difficulties otherwise).
Do you want amazing level design such as side-room #1534 that has nothing in it?
Do you want to a final boss that is defeated in...less than a minute (both phases together)?
Do you want a game with DLCs that together cost more than the base game?
Do you love seasonal passes?
Do you enjoy replacing your items with things you don't like after every level because of forced leveling system?
Do you like half-assed classes?
Do you like the idea of Mojang locking skins behind money and not supporting mods?
Do you like co-op features such as your body disappearing for the other players or enemies that shouldn't be alive walking around?

Then by all means, buy this game.

One of the best rogue likes out there, Dead Cells is probably the sort of game I'd replay even though I've finished everything several times before.

Good things :
- Banger soundtrack, literally every single track is great and this is a feat that few games achieve, it even has a recognizable style compared to other games and even uses motifs here and there. Boss fight themes are also good though compared to newer ones, the older ones definitely feel less great

- Unique visuals of 3D pixelated stuff next to 2D pixelated backgrounds, works perfectly well for the game and a lot of designs look great, both the world itself and regular enemies, bosses and other characters (though the weapons do look a bit lazy)

- Really good replayability : not only are there several boss options for each part of the game, but there's also different ROUTES you can pick which means entire parts of the run will be different

- Unique layouts : a lot of the levels are generated randomly, but unlike some rogue likes that have pretty forgettable generation, here a lot of levels have unique easy to differentiate layouts : Undying Shores is mostly built on the side and inside of some sort of cliff, Sewers are absolute mazes, Clocktower is split into several extremely tall towers, Fractured Shrines is a bunch of flying islands and so on...

- Gameplay has a LOT of variety. There's 3 main playstyles depending on the type of scrolls you pick along the way, basically being defense, close range offense and ranged (with traps as well). The variety then also comes from the huge number of weapons the game has. Swords, spears, giant swords, a sword that loves you for some reason, a sword that curses you, close range bows, long range bows, a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cannon, a rapier, another rapier but it tears through space and time or something, a B O N E, daggers, boots or sandals, whips, a torch, a scythe, a crowbar, a bat, a lantern and so on...

- It's extremely cool that this game promotes other indie games through crossovers, I wish more games did that

- It manages to have interesting lore told through minimal dialogue and environment

Bad things :

[UPDATED] Initially I complained about the difficulty that feels rather insane that you need to master in order to clear the last ending of the game, but they now added Assist Mode so that's fine. I've no complaints left about the game.

As of now, the game has sadly been heavily disappointing : its mechanics are fine, but it retains ZERO horror elements from the series' previous games. I have played and kept hoping it would get better, but you have to face the truth : the graphics-performance ratio is extremely bad, not comparable to the VR game for example. I had slight lag even with the lowest settings of the game, with the game not looking that great even at medium-high. The ideas are there, but it feels nothing like a good horror game should feel like. What made FNAF so good in the first place is its unique horror aspect. This one misses that part entirely, while the VR hit the nail perfectly. I really am not sure how this happened, but I just can't like it : it is clunky, laggy, bad looking enough to not take it seriously and the game is much more frustration rather than horror, with some mechanics entirely unexplained. I am not really sure how it could've been made better, maybe a free-roam FNAF wasn't that amazing of an idea after all... If the game receives a heavy price cut to fit the current quality or huge improvements to fit the price I might give it a shot again but for now I'm giving up.

One of the best games out here on Steam, but that is clearly biased so I'm just gonna take it step by step, since this game just makes me feel just like Minecraft does.

Pros :
- Incredible amount of content : from weapons and armors and bosses to fishing and mining and building
- Don't need that good of a PC to run it
- Amazingly fun with friends
- Unique soundtrack (it may be low quality but it gives off a certain feeling that no other game's ost does)
- Been updated constantly with new fun content
- Has an active modding community that brings incredible stuff to the fandom
- Has difficulties you can select to tweak the game to your liking, from easy to an actual challenge
- Game offers a ton of mobility through items

Cons :
- May feel difficult to wrap your head around it at first due to the high amount of content
- May be a bit tough and slow at first till you get used to the flow of the game and get some items

One of the best or maybe the actual best rogue like I've ever played. Smooth and extremely varied gameplay, it's somewhere up there with Enter The Gungeon. Unlike Enter The Gungeon however, the main point of variety here isn't a huge number of weapons or several characters, but rather combinations of abilities and a story that continues from run to run in a very well written way. The soundtrack is amazing and the art style makes it stand out from other games. The voice acting is really good as well. It might seem very difficult at first, but this is easily solved by all the things you can unlock to help you on the way! The theme of greek mythology also gives it more personality together with the quirky dialogue.

Pros :
-Good writing
-Great soundtrack
-Amazing gameplay
-Unique art style
-Balanced difficulty (if it's too hard, upgrades are available to make your life easier)
-Good voice acting, especially for an indie game
-Extremely polished

Cons :
-Can be difficult for players that are new to the genre
-Can be boring for those that hate reading
-Might be boring once you beat the final boss. However, it's up to you to decide when you stop playing

Early Access Review
It's rare for a game to attempt to make choices matter in the way Griftands does. Almost every single choice you make - to kill or spare, battle or negotiate, choose one character over another - it will shape your gameplay a little. It's a very interesting roguelike game with a style of it's own and honestly it absolutely got me hooked. Now that it's out of early access and we have the full thing, here's how I feel about it :

NOTE : I am only going to talk about Smith's campaign, the first 2 I have played back when it was still early access and still unpolished so I'd rather not judge on that

Pros :
- choices matter (sometimes a lot more than you'd think, but I won't spoil on that)
- every character has their own gameplay styles from which you can pick
- unique take on the choice between combat and talking things out which makes both engaging and fun
- good looking art
- interesting story, it really picks up in the final campaign where the stakes are really high
- fun gameplay that makes me wish there was more
- the battle themes are great
- the game is now much more balanced than in early access, since they added the flourish system which is basically like having an ultimate ability on your character (you can pick from quite a lot of them!) as well as upgrades to your stats after or even during a run

Cons :
- choices are sometimes NOT clear enough. It happens rather rarely but this is one thing I dislike. One clear example I can give is in Smith's story, Andwanette. One of the possible tasks she can give you is related to some sort of "tragic accident" that happened to one of her friends. I won't spoil it, but the options you are given are vague and it happened more than once that I did something I did NOT want to do simply because it was unclear what the choice meant
- it is clear this game was meant to be an RPG. Sadly, I feel like some aspects don't translate well into rogue like and it has to be one of the less good games I've played of this genre. Generally, if you see most of one character's story twice, there'll be nothing unique or interesting that you can find there anymore. Maybe Smith's is an exception with the choices seemingly leading to more endings, but the way there still gets boring fast. Perhaps if you are ignoring the story and encounters entirely and only look at the deck building side of things, you'll have fun with the rogue-like elements. Otherwise, not really
- difficulty spikes are sometimes annoying to deal with, though it depends on campaign and probably play style

Please, please, please make at least one more campaign! I know you've said it is now "full" story wise but the trailers got everyone wishing for a campaign where the 3 protagonists work together! The early concept versions of this even had them all in the same party! The world of the game is definitely big enough to allow for more exploration of it story wise so there's definitely more to see for another campaign!

Positives :
- Interesting concept
- Can be fun with friends
- Nice art style and music
- Has a decent amount of variety so that it won't feel boring : 3 different types of objectives, several weapons and ways to kill, even gives the possibility of stealth if you hide behind buildings
- Walkie talkies. It's a pretty good mechanic of solving the issue of voice chat over larger distances and ties into the whole "trust or not" thing

Negatives :
- Map is too big, giving almost no chance to the survivors, especially with the dig type of objective
- There's almost no "social deception" in here. A lot of people just kill randomly on any small suspicion and generally there's nothing pushing the players to socialize. There's for example this "exile" vote thing where you can kick a player from the house permanently. But you hardly get the opportunity to ever do that.
- Shooting is extremely annoying and it's next to impossible to tell how you should shoot to actually hit properly (there is this red/green thing but when you actually fight someone you need to act quick and it'd be nice if you didn't need that)

Conclusion :

-Not worth more than 15€, but still worth buying if you have friends to play with.
