Currently on an old but reliable pc (i5 2500k, GTX 2070 Si, 32GB RAM) and while this game is very playable, it doesn't look great. I spent so much of my 4 hours tweaking the game to try and get it to run smoothly and I had to settle for a cruddy 40 FPS with dips into the 30s. The game doesn't look stellar or crisp which gives me the impression something is wrong on the other end of things.

The gameplay is awesome, the gunplay is satisfying, and the enemies are cool. Music and world are well executed. For now, I'm not recommending this but I definitely see myself updating my review in the future after a few patches.

The atmosphere in this game is fantastic. I consistently felt a feeling of suspense & scarcity throughout the game.

I played on Ranger Hardcore as my first (and only) playthrough, at the request of Reddit's community for the game and various others. The HUD is disabled minus laser pointers, damage is increased both ways so you die VERY easily and so do all the enemies. I took a stealth approach when it felt appropriate but with no HUD and scarce supplies, sometimes I was caught and went the 'action' route. You can see various incredibly important player information if you hold M and bring up the clip board which acts as a journal. This is imperative to getting through the game.

The biggest frustration with the difficulty was quick time events. There were many spots where the UI gave no feedback so there was no choice but to die a couple times to figure out what button to press. (usually E)

Ammo being incredibly rare was...more difficult than I'd like to admit. Always buy 100% of your inventory space of knives -- they do double damage on ranger easy/hardcore and are cheap and reusable. I found this out far too late. I also wasn't sure what a "good" gun was, even through the end 80% of the game. I finally found some good ones but at that point, had been stockpiling the wrong ammo. Stick with 1 or two styles.

Lovely game. 8/10

A beautiful game.

It's difficult to tell a full story without words or text, yet this game accomplishes that and much more. I appreciate the developers for what they have done here.

The soundtrack is what drove me to purchase and play this game originally, but I will be staying for the mix between both worlds. This game is art, through and through.

If you're looking for something that will scratch your twitch itch as well as a little bit of story and intrigue, this is your game. If you're looking to improve personally instead of incrementally via game mechanics, this is (pretty much) your game. If you want unique art, this is your game. If you're a completionist, this game is going to challenge you in the most beautiful ways. If you aren't, you'll still leave satisfied.

I can't think of one person I wouldn't recommend this game to. I loved this game and I will continue to love it. I may give it a 100% playthrough eventually, but now is not that time.

Puts our natural disasters into perspective. Great use of the gaming medium.

Short game (<15m), so no reason to not experience.

I definitely would recommend playing this, especially if you liked Bastion. The gameplay is similar to any turn-based combat game. I definitely found the combat satisfying. You plan out what attacks and combos you want to do on your turn, then Red acts them out immediately. You then go on cooldown for about 5s, then can make another attack. During this cooldown time, you are vulnerable and have to dodge whatever you can. If you "die" you lose an ability until you re-load it by going through checkpoints.

The story was not as intneresting or in your face like Bastion's was. I would say story wise, Transistor seems more thought out but the delivery was not my favorite.

The characters were actually really cool! The atmosphere is abundant throughout the entire game, and there are even little "screensaver" type places ("Backdoor") to hang out.

As a busy person, this game fits in quite well with my schedule. You can pick it up and play for a little while, or you can dive in for a couple hours and plow through a bunch of content. Usually the pacing feels great if I can actually finish a game (which I did).

I beat the game in around 14 hours, the extra gameplay time was from when I previously picked up the game (a year or so ago) and played through a couple chapters and then just stopped playing. It does seem there is some replayable content in the way of "Recursion mode" which seems to generate random battles for you to fight. The battle system was interesting, but I am definitely overloaded with games to play so I will probably not be stopping in to do a couple battles any time soon.

All in all, I'd give this game a solid 10/14.

Great little dungeon crawler with controls similar to old school FPS i.e Quake

Seems like each dungeon is randomly generated, split into levels which have a boss at the end. Earn different weapons by exploring the dungeon. When your character levels, you are presented with a couple options of "perks" to have for that run such as increased mana, health, and other similar powers.

Plays like a permadeath game, but to unlock new content (characters) you must get kills with specific weapons and similar goals.

The game is great fun and definitely worth diving into for a short play session every now and then. I didn't feel very powerful when playing the game and some of the mechanics prove to make the game a little tedious. As with most randomly generated titles, the game didn't feel very fluid. The artwork is great though and like I said, it is a fun dungeon crawling FPS. Definitely never played something like this before!

Great co-op game! I played this LOCALLY with a gamepad and a keyboard. Great controls on either end.

I found myself strategizing with my teammate(s) and generally having fun. Most levels after the first world (there are 4, I think) have an amazing level of difficulty. Each level has three gems - beat the level, a "challenge" and a time trial. I generally skipped the time trial as that required you to really strategize in between waves and try over and over again to beat the level within the time limit. Seemed like a waste of my gaming time to me, so I left it alone. however! Some of the challenges were actually really cool and most definitely add replayability.

For instance, a level would be about moving blocks around and solving a puzzle, killing some dudes, and then finding the end banner. Easy enough, allows you to use your brain, and you get to fight quite a bit. The challenge? Don't get hit by suicide monsters. Adds some good challenge, but it isn't terribly difficult. Strategy for those levels takes 1 minute or less, and a little bit of talking which is perfect. Time trials are a different story - lots of strategy, retrying levels, and I would almost say are next to impossible with less than 3 players.

In the end, I recommend this very highly to anyone that has even one other person they like to play games with. Netcode is great, no noticable lag, and steam has some great voice chat.

Play!

Not my kind of game, sadly. I was really excited to play this but the combat is just not very fun. Sure, it's interesting to watch sometimes but it was really boring to use. I'm sure as more and more spells get added on it gets a little more interesting, but this just isn't my style.

However! If you like fantasy RPGs that aren't too off the wall (little magic, more swordplay) then this is definitely for you. Geralt seemed like an insanely forgettable main character to me. Also, the sex scene that was an hour into the game was just hilarious. "I'm delusional" "That's okay, let's do it!" Seriously.

I might try the second one, but the first one seemed very unpolished to me. I can see why it has made such a ruckus in the gaming community, and you can't really go wrong for paying $2 for it (or $5 for 1 and 2!) but the lack of variety of monsters in the first 5-7 hours of the game just killed any interest I had in playing. They have you killing wolves for at least 3-4 hours of gameplay. Boring.

I recommend this to anyone looking for an RPG that has lots of depth, but I can't recommend it to people who require great gameplay. The story is good - that's why I'm moving on and reading the book instead.

Awesomenauts is a variation on the MOBA style, except it is played in an objective 2D mode. This is seen in every screenshot of the game on the Steam store. The teams (for now) are all 3v3, which makes it much easier to keep track of who is good, and learn other characters while you learn the one you are playing.

There are a few maps, I'd say around 6 in the base game with a few more added in the expansion.

The thing that sets awesomenauts apart from other MOBAs is there are no items. Each hero has two base spells. Now, that sounds not very complicated, but each spell has 6-8 "powerups" that you can choose THREE from at the beginning of the game. Each of these powerups have 3 level ups that go throughout each match.

This MOBA is much easier to get into than the other games in it's genre, and still has the same addiction factor. I've played 4-6 of the 'nauts and I have somewhere around 20 hours in the game. I play it to master a certain hero and then move to the next once I have a good grasp on the hero, so that is in no way indicitive of my experience in the game.

I've found a few characters to be frustrating to play with/against, but it's usually because early-level vs late-game strengths. Each game is pretty short (20-30 mins) so it is fast paced. I've found it incredible how far you can be behind and still come back if you play smart.

Very fun game to play with friends! Definitely pick up a 4 pack or whatever and spread the joy :)

Great game. Frustrating at the beginning, but you start to get the hang of it pretty fast.

I picked it up for less than a dollar and got an hour of entertainment out of it, but realized it is really one of those "I have a few minutes before work, what can I play?" type games. Nothing wrong with that but, like I've said in my previous reviews, I'm trying to get through my library and pick the best of the best games that I want to play.

I'll definitely install this from time to time. I doubt anyone is really going to read reviews of this game before buying because you either: 1. Got it in a humble bundle or 2. It's on sale for $0.50 again.

No brainer buy if it's on sale - I'd never pay full price for it though.
