I never quite reviewed this game, but seeing that it was on sale I decided I wanted to drop a review on it.
It's a great experience for anyone looking for a great atmosphere and good feeling movements.

Do be warned that this game gets incredibly difficult (even more-so as you get closer to the end of the game).
Very much with that in mind, despite the frustrations I had with the difficulty.. it made completing the game far
more satisfying and gratifying.

I'm almost impressed Sony managed to turn a game with Overwhelmingly Positive reviews to Mixed and Mostly Negative in the span of a week. Although, you should never underestimate a company's ability to do horrible choice gymnastics. Forcing players to put their information on PSN to play a game is shameless and compromises user data even more. Need we look at the statistics of data breaches they've had recently?

Edit (5/6/2024): WE WON.

This game feels a lot like Subnautica.
Beautiful environments, fun exploration, and the fact you can go from a
nice nature road-trip to a mortifying experience within the span of thirty minutes.
Plus, you can befriend your car. What else could you want?

This game has cemented itself as one of my favorite cooperative games I've played ever.
Initially, I played a little bit of the game and shrugged it off not thinking much about it.
I hadn't come back to this game until this year, and spent time playing it occasionally by myself.
The amount of detail and care that was put into the game had blown me away as to why I didn't
notice this before. The environments are beautiful, the soundtracks immerse you, and the game is
just straight-up so much fun. Even then, playing through this game (now at 112 hours), I still haven't seen everything that the game has to offer. It's such a simple premise, too. You're a dwarf and you're diving into Hoxxes IV to do a simple mining job. Despite how simple it is, the game has so many different ways and styles you can go through it, with more features being unlocked as you progress.
"Why do we fight? For rock and stone." This phrase has encapsulated the community perfectly. On that as well, the community is probably one of (if not the best) communities you can find online.
Another great reason is that most of the cosmetics you see on other players are things you can unlock if you play enough. Even things you may have missed in an older season can be recovered, so you're never going to truly miss out on that one cool hat you've wanted on your dwarf. A lot of game development studios can (and should) learn from them.
If you were to look at one of the DLCs (the occasional cosmetic pack), the comments are lined up with people who bought it purely to support the developers. I myself bought said pack because of that reason alone. Of course, the cosmetics are super cool (and they make sure the community is happy with that), and that's just a plus.
I'm really, really looking forward to the game's future updates, and I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a great time.

Early Access Review
Despite only having 15.3 hours in this game at the point of writing this, I believe that you (and anyone else you want to convince) will adore this game. Especially for scares, and laughs. Think Phasmophobia, Deep Rock Galactic, and Outer Wilds combined. Get scrap, meet your quota. I do believe this game is best played with friends, so you can utilize all of the mechanics and equipment. Plus, the difficulty can ramp up quite high, so teamwork is crucial for victory.

I'm just hoping that you could keep suit colors outside of game lobbies. It's nice being able to obtain customizable accessories.
Beware the flower man.

Got five games in a row where my friend could no longer load into games or got soft-locked after this patch.

Well, this game had promise. They were open with us, but not enough. It seems the sheer volume of players trying to play the game at once was too much for Starbreeze's servers to handle. I enjoyed the early access, which was the allotted amount of time we could play without any hitches with matchmaking and it ran smoothly. Sure, I have my gripes with the game's systems, like leveling being tied to challenges (the game feels a lot more grindey now because of it), and the game being in online only mode. However, considering the substantial amount of time leading up to this, and the amount of hype it was garnering, it was an incredible disappointment that (despite the testing doing prior) the servers got overwhelmed this easily. If you guys address the overwhelming community issues, I'll definitely revise my review. But for what I paid for, this is an extremely disappointing launch for a game I anticipated for years.

Early Access Review
Probably one of the best cooperative horror experiences I've had the pleasure of playing to date. The game's best played in immersive mode alone (or classic coop with friends, because you'll end up as aimless as me as they're practically being executed with no visuals on your friends as they practically scream for help.) Considering the amount of objects placed in each therapy "session" relating to cooperative actions, it's very clear this was designed for multiple players in mind. I'm looking forward to seeing what other content they release when they exit Early Access.
